Just curious what the AA jump seat policy is? Seniority, First Come First Serve, Do you have an automated system to book?
No automated system.
Seniority.
Time cut off for no bump.. (10 minutes prior to departure?)
weight issues are very rare.Do you like the AA system?
USAIRWAYS has a 7 day prior booking system. You book the seat and it is yours. You can not be bumped for weight.
For commuters wouldn't you think it would be better to know you are going to get on the jump seat?weight issues are very rare.
I like our current system.
What if there are multiple commuters trying for the same flight? What if your trip falls apart and you can catch an earlier flight home??For commuters wouldn't you think it would be better to know you are going to get on the jump seat?
You cancel the jump-seat if you are not going to use it. We have a primary and alternate jump-seat listing. So two pilots can list. If you are alternate on the first flight you can list as primary on the next flight. You cannot primary list for multiple flights in an attempt to abuse the system. If no one lists it is first come first serve. Mainline pilots cannot be removed for weight restrictions ever. It is a pretty good system. What if there are multiple commuters trying for the same flight? What if your trip falls apart and you can catch an earlier flight home??
We are supposed to be booked an Isle seat if available. I am not sure about long haul international deadhead policies. What's the deadhead policy for long flights at LCC?
I would prefer a policy comparable to our network carrier competition, DAL and UAL, but unfortunately it didn't happen.

You must be senior. LOLI like ours better.
We'll see what happens..
No love for the junior guy. :wub:Maybe..
But I will say this: the senior guy at the gate that wants on my flight gets on..
