I just heard that a main gear truck broke in half on push-back a few days ago on a B757 during a push back. I was also told had this happened on landing there could have been disastrous consequences. If true it sure has been kept quiet. Any other details ?

Old News..

Broke a few weeks ago..

Happened in PIT..

They brought McMuffin and Spenus in, they found someone to blame, made them fix it, fired them then took at the credit for the repair. They called Frank just after that to tell them that if the guys get it done and work a little harder in the hangar they are going to bring in more work, recall everyone and it will be just like old times..

Nothing new..

If it had happened on landing it would have been bad.. Ugly actually.. But McMuffin and Tempe would have blamed the airport for the gear failure. Running and screaming that they would yank service if someone did not go out and clean the runway..

PIT is in good hands with McMuffin and Spenus.. Plenty of blame and credit to go around..

The good news though was the speed at which it got fixed.. They brought their #1 ace engineer Stormin Normavator down, he wrote an EA, snorted a couple of times, wiped his nose with his hands, shook the technicians hands then ran to Spenus to tell him how the technicians were not doing their jobs..

Happened Sunday 10/28 in CLT. A/C 919. Main landing gear truck beam failed (broke in half) just prior to pushback from D7. Tag on gear indicates last overhauled by AAR landing gear services, Miami FL Apr 2005 (outsourced maintenance). Being repaired in CLT line hanger.

Actually its new news justaumechanic. I heard this afternoon a/c 919 had a hard landing a few weeks ago and was inspected and returned to service.

That makes two then.

There was a failure of a 757 not to long ago.. Same issue.. Truck Beam Failure.

That is what I thought the post was about.

I guess its just another "whoops".

Good thing we got rid of the INT gear shop..

The 757 gear was never overhauled inhouse, the gear would not fit in the tanks at the gear shop.

Goodrich use to overhaul the 757 and 767 landing gear.

I am in awe of your knowledge. You seem to be an expert in all things concerning aviation. A legend in your own mind. LMAO

Dont like the truth, dont read it, I use to handle the gear when we got it back from Goodrich and been to the INT gear shop numerous times.

Don't let the facts get in your way.

Lets see?....A pilot. No I don't think thats it. Oh yea thats right must be a mechanic. No thats not quite right either. Flight attendant? No wrong again. Ramper? Nadda. Utility? Maybe at one time but no longer. IAM propagada agent?????????????Jury's still out on that one. I got it ..........a Twinkie baker.

Don't like the truth, don't read it. I handle gear and cargo and bags and fly in aircraft but that don't make me an expert.

Don't let the facts get in your way.

Are you that ignorant?

I was a stock clerk, we recieved the gear back from the vendor, checked the paperwork, serial #s, entered it into the system and sent it on to the recieving inspector, when he generated the 8130 tag and then we put the gear into stock.

Why don't you comment on something you know, instead of things you have no clue about.

And wrong again, about the twinkies, is that the best you can do?

Once again, dont let the facts get in your way.

So did you also used to handle the issuance of Cuban overflight permits and the inflight enforcement of the Cuban no-photography rule?

Just curious, as long as we're on the subject of things you are an expert on.

So I don't use a stainless steel, non-stick, 24" x 36", heavy duty, industial grade Ho-Ho pan. Wish I did. Apparently I wouldn't be so ignorant.
