Ouch!...See listings under: "What's wrong with this picture?". A definate blessing that it happened on the ground, at near zero speed.

I am having trouble keeping count. It sounds like this has happened three times in recent months.

Wouldn't that be cause to inspect all 757s PDQ?

I saw the pictures of this mishap. I am not a mechanic but I think the truck is the part that is twisted around in the above photos. The one in CLT looked like the part between the wheels that connects to the main strut(?) broke in the middle and the strut dropped to the ground between the wheels.

Amen...especially on touchdown, where it'd seem most likely. I love it when the huge failures are only occurring at very low speed, and safely on the ground.

The MLG truck beam is the horizontal main structural component connecting the fwd and aft axles. It is linked to the vertical shock strut at a central pivot point. It has no redundancy and its failure at speed could prove to be catastrophic. Previous picture shown was probably a torque link failure. It was a good day at B7.

A/C 925 PHL 2/21/07 Right mlg lower torque link failed on taxi out, mlg truck was rotated 45"
