Based on David Bronner's remarks, the Washington Post urges passengers to book away and use up frequent flyer miles...
Quoting US Airways' Chairman of the Board David Bronner's statements last week that US Airways has a "1 to 2 percent" chance of surviving if it goes into bankruptcy again, the Washington Post Sunday Travel section has advised passengers to book away and use up their frequent flyer miles.
The Post says, "If you already have a ticket on US Airways, keep abreast of the news and investigate flight alternatives on other airlines" (bold type in original article).
The newspaper also advises, "If you are one of the 21 million members of US Airways Dividend Miles program, start using your miles," (bold type in original article).
The Post also quotes the ALPA consultant's report saying that US Airways will have to file for Bankruptcy again in mid-September and will likely stop operating within 180 to 270 days, (bold type in original article).
It is hard for employees to understand why executives would make these damaging remarks that will cost US Airways millions in lost revenue as passengers book away to other airlines, at the very time they are asking employees to give up millions of dollars out of their paychecks.

Meetings scheduled with management...
At the end of our August 11 meeting, management asked for a follow-up meeting of our analysts to discuss the costing in our proposals (that has taken place).
They then stated they wanted to have a meeting "early in the week" of August 16 (last week) to reply to our proposals. We agreed and asked them to name some dates for that meeting. They said they would contact us later. As of this posting (8-23-04) they have not contacted us about that meeting.

It's very obvious to anyone with common sense that either this management is totally absolutely inept and stupid or they really want to enter BK again to wipe the slate clean thinking that is their only chance of survival.

I saw the Pittsburgh airport authority slamming U and they had a justified reason to do so. Like Kent George was saying; First they want massive concessions, make Pit a focus city, then announce a new hub in FL. At the same time U’s mouth piece, you know that real piece of work we hear in the media, saying this: Oh we don't want to make a hub in FL, but just another focus city when it was already announced about the new hub in FL. Asinine!

They lie so much they are tripping over themselves for the entire world to see. People are booking away. People pray for us when they learn we are employees, knowing God can only save you from this fate. It would be laughable if so many people weren't affected so severely by all this.

This mess will go done in business history, count on it. Like a college professor was telling my son’s graduate class, look to U on what not to follow as a model when running a business. A big farce this management team is who changes with the wind never setting goals and sticking to them with fervor, but are wishy washy and of course reactionary.

Good Luck U Employees…there is a life beyond U.
