Layoff ?

My dad was telling me of some rumor of heavy maintenance layoffs in the winter because of a lean schedule and not aircraft to maintain, no C/Q checks.
Whats up with this ?

Don't know what you are hearing but my friend who is a mech in PIT seems to think there will be layoffs as he hears PIT mainline will all be operated by Republic some time in Oct.

I saw your previous post....Mainline in PIT could be totally reduced to an express type operation and that would affect U mainline mech's but at the same time the contract states (present,ie:buses,737) mainline aircraft will be maintained by IAM in CLT and PIT.
I think there's verbage also regarding operating mainline with 190 types and it becomes IAM work also.
I haven't heard anything but will make some inquiries.

Maybe the 17 Directors and Consultants got confused and they deployed themselves over the wrong Pennsylvania city. Tempe you've already shredded PIT to nothing it's PHL you need to focus on.

PIT was ready shredded by previous management groups. Tempe just lopped off the pieces that were ready to fall off.
