Is any other Crew Chief being required to take leadership E-Courses at Flagship University?

These courses are a result of how a crew chief performs on their review.

You are the first I have heard of. I have not been scheduled for anything like that yet nor any other c/c that I know of. But it looks like this is going to be a requirement for all of us sooner or later.

It is all Computer Based and I have been instructed to complete also.

Just curious; what concepts do these courses cover?
Leadership and Team Building so far.

I can tell you that the supervisor who ordered my group to take these courses needs to take them himself.

Thanks for the info.

Having taken them, do you think they're worthwhile, or is the usual "hurray for everything" type stuff most of us get to see during company training (in other words, not very worthwhile in the real world-or out on the floor).

I am actually still in the process. I have taken six courses out of approximately 50+ , so I have many more hours to go.

These courses have been designed by those in cubicles that have no real idea about what mechanics do. They are designed for a manufacturing environment and we repair the aircraft not manufacture them.

The core seems to be that every crew chief can be improved and that is probably true, however until management and mechanic on the floor blend together we will fail to achieve any goal of true quality.

Looks like they are trying to implement terms from the Term Sheet while still in negotiations, file a grievance.

Buck, I'm afraid that you are once again not seeing the big picture. Think of all the cubicle dwellers at CP grading your performance in an environment that they don't have a clue about. If it weren't for this they might have to go out and get a real job.

I have taken about 8 courses. They are designed for corporate employees who still believe that aircraft can be repaired from the very cubicles you speak of.

Decision making techniques to determine how to implement the work force by attempting to mold the leadership.

If you are given three choices, which one should you pick and why not the others or which one to throw out.

It definitely does not apply to maintaining or overhauling aircraft.

The company is still operating on the consultant concept, that has continuallyfailed them in the past.

The supervisor that assigned the local crew chiefs has no clue what is in these courses. I believe it is a method of job protection, his.
