What's new

Lets "put up...or SHUT UP" about the fiscal cliff, shall we !

FWIW, this country grew pretty rapidly when tax rates for the top 1% were up in the 90% range.
I thought that going back to 35% would be the "job killing tax rates" ....

Seems that growth was very steady from those "job creators" when the rates were higher. The job growth went stagnant and dropped as the Bush plan took effect.

True that. But the right hears that these will be killing jobs from the likes of the voice of the common man, Rush Limbaugh that the rich will flee and jobs will be killed if the taxes are raised. Then for proof, they cite France. Black apparently bought it, hook, line and sinker.

Federal income tax= more

Capital gains tax= less

Any questions ?

I say," Over the cliff we go! That'll teach them evil rich bastards, they can't mess with us"!

This is why the top 1% are paying more taxes in raw dollars:

And this is why joe six pack is upset and why Obama won the election by campaigning on higher tax "rates" for the top. They will only go back to the low rates (in comparison to the previous 50 years) of the Clinton era.

Nice non biased source.

MoveOn is a Web-based, grassroots political network that organizes "electronic advocacy groups" of online activists around specific issues; raises money for Democrat candidates through rock concerts and other entertainment events; generates political ads; and wins young recruits through its appeal to the Net-savvy, MTV subculture.

MoveOn uses its fundraising clout to push the Democratic Party to the left.

More than a website, MoveOn.org is a movement tailored to persuade young people to support mainstream Democrats.

MoveOn has received financial support from numerous leftist organizations, including the Tides Foundation, the Shefa Fund, the Stern Family Fund, the Steven and Michelle Kirsch Foundation, the Compton Foundation, and George Soros's Open Society Institute. Following a September 17, 2003 meeting between Soros and Boyd in New York, Soros and his associates gave nearly $6.2 million to MoveOn over a period of six months. The contributions included $2.5 million from George Soros personally; $2.5 million from Peter B. Lewis of Progressive Insurance; $971,427 from Stephen Bing of Shangri-La Entertainment; $100,000 from Benson & Hedges tobacco heir Lewis Cullman; and $101,000 from Soros' 34-year-old son Jonathan Soros, an attorney and financier recently promoted to deputy manager of Soros Fund Management LLC.

Say's the guy who vehemently attacked one of my sources !

Wikipedia ring a bell, Quag?

Wikipedia should only be used as a starting point, not as a source, since it's "user" maintained. Which means someone can put whatever their opinion is and unless challenged - it remains. CAse in point - students at my daughters old high school "updated" the Wikipedia page to include "Students at east enjoy smoking pot and getting drunk at parties". It was there - for a long time.

Only following your time proven tactic Pal.

Source is knee deep in leftist BS.

If Move on is knee deep in leftist BS, and WND is knee deep in neocon BS, how come only one of those is posting "factual" information?

I know the organiztion is left biased. Refute the numbers and get back to me. I have used right wing leaning sources as long as they are correct. You would be very surprised to read some of my research.

Just because I am a democrat does not mean I cannot research and write essays about things I do not agree with (Ezekiel Emanuel comes to mind here). I use scholarly sources from a range of the political spectrum in my research. I also dig and ensure that if I use numbers, they are correct. I have to be able to defend my work in front of peer review panels.

Not so much here...

So that's why you get shot in the foot so often here?
Due to your exemplary sourcing?

I beg your pardon Professor, I didn't recognize you without your chalkboard.

You still have not refuted the original numbers of these latest data (as well as the government employment charts a few weeks ago).

As for being shot in the foot, how about all your WND Farah inspired conspiracies like the Birther, and all those under sampled polls you were trotting out back in October and November.

I will stand by my postings and admit when I am incorrect.

Let me know when you are ready to do that with the 2011 depression, Kenyan born President, Romney win, Ron Paul surprise at the convention, ....

I will stop there.

LOL....this is good.

All possibilities.......never certainties...............all things to ponder.

Funny part is how you and several others foamed at the mouth over those posts.

That was the certainty.
