Level Off Video

There are currently 17 733's that still have the video equipment on them. There may be an additional 5, but I can't determine if they were removed yet or not. There are 19 734's that are still video equipped.

Wow, I didn't realize that there were so many 737's still around equipped with video!

I should have also asked what the current 737 fleet count is as of last week's schedule change when a whole bunch were removed.

As of this week there are 37 B733's and 40 B734's still showing as active (including HVY airplanes).

thats funny, the 737's are not video equipped anymore and we def do not show any movies on the 737's neither.

Who said anything about movies? We're talking about the safety video and the level-off video, both of which were shown on the video-equipped 733 I flew on last week, N530AU.

Except....in The Twilight Zone!

You know, now that you mention it, I was flying out of PHL during the middle of the day, and yet we left on time...so I suppose it very well could have been the Twilight Zone.

I did see the video once this week and honestly I didn't think it was to horrible.

Unfortunately this is the only way to get the message across to the flying public about the merger and all the changes happening at USAirways....since nobody here has the intelligence or money to put it into a marketing campaign with let's say TV commercials or newspaper advertising! And for those of us that are subjected to it up to 5-6 times a day, ear plugs are a good thing to keep in your bag!

I haven't flown on LCC this month and when I will, it will be aboard an RJ that won't have TVs on it. As for the Level-off video, is it a permanent change or just temporary? Also, does that mean that the former US east safety announcement has/will change?

PLEASE use US East's safety announcement--US West's is dreadfully long and sssslllllooooowwww--then again, who cares, CO is matching CP status.

The video itself is fine and I like the way the graphics use the flag but it is just too looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooog!! Oops, I fell asleep. Basics please and end it. 😉

As a flight attendant from US-east who just flew on US-west I have to say that the safety video is horrible. The way they have peaced the video together from the US-east to the voice of the young guy its horrible. Then that same dude in the cockpit in the passing plane. You can't possibly get cheaper than that. I like the video during boarding though. How often in a month do they change the trivia video?

As a F/A at US West, our biggest complaints are the announcements. We make so much! I feel sorry for the bilinguals when they do the international routes. They have to say them twice! I agree, they are annoying! We should bombared the trainers with complaints. I also agree that the video needs improvement. Make it short please!
The boarding video and the trivia changes every month.

I just flew to Puerto Vallarta on US west going and Mesa on the way back to PHX. So many of the passengers were actually mexican and nothing was in Spanish at all in either direction. I have to add real quick that I as a f/a have never flew mesa and whooooah was it a horrible experience at that. Two of the meanest B#@%&ES I have witnessed on an a/c in years. I being a f/a was beside myself at how down right RUDE they were.

ok I hate when topics stray but quickly.... The bell went off after takeoff and they were making the announcement that PED's were approved when I stood up on the crj-900 to get my dvd player out of the overhead. The f/a making the announcement said, "SIR, SIR you need to take your seat". Then she came up to me and asked if there was something I needed. I told her what I was doing. She then said that she could get something FOR me and that the captain requires us to remain seated until AFTER the beverage service. I can't even make this BS up. Another gentleman flying asked to use the lav and was told to wait until svc was done. The honestly LOCKED the bathroom doors. Now being a f/a I never heard of anything like that in my life. He got pretty PO'd and they would not move the carts at all to use either the lav in the back or the front. I then identified myself to her and whipped out my ID and said that you can usually get up after 10,000 feet. She then said that "This is Mesa not Usairways. UMMMMM OK? anyway. I should probably put this on the regional board.

I have to say that the video is a nice touch. I'm not saying that I like it but its advertising to help US get a profit. The video is a little long but other then that it's fine with me.
