I think that ALL USAirways pilots should be should be pulling for a restoration of pre-LAO 93 wages. A favorable decision by the arbitrator in that regard would provide USAPA or Uslessapa (depending on your politics) with huge negotiating leverage. It would speedup the process of drafting a "combined" CBA agreement, which could then be voted on and if passed, the West could then move forward with another DFR action if desired.

USAPA is correct in forcing the issue to a decision, at best they gain a bunch of bargaining power and at worst they end up where they started, SCREWED by LAO 93, thanks APLA!

I really don't understand the point you are trying to make. Wouldn't if be in everyone's best interest to reach the best agreement possible with the company (with the leverage afforded by restoration of pre-LOA 93 wages) at which point it would be possible to bring a "Ripe" DFR action against USAPA if desired?

While this is drifting toward a pilot labor thread, the short answer is that winning the LOA 93 pay restoration will likely draw this out longer - the East pilots wouldn't have any incentive to ratify a contract if a judge rules it must include the Nic. They'll get a nice raise without the Nic so where's the incentive to ratify?
