Yep jim little gave up profit sharing for 4.3% raise. which also worked out to be a ta da 4.3% raise in dues....

It was part of an MOU that included the pay raises, elimination of the remaining profit sharing, a time frame for the application of the Single Carrier Status and the seniority integration process.

What evil. They agreed to pay raises so they could get more dues.....Damn them! =/
 
The letter is a face saving move. The company will not go back on what it has publicly stated.

The company won't go back on what is has publicly stated?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? really?!?!?!? have you been paying attention? they have extended the pilots deadline repeatedly…………

Just thought of something: your dues are computed as two hours of base pay per month, right? That would mean that you wouldn't pay union dues on profit sharing (if your leaders had not given it away). Increases to your base rate mean more money for them to spend, while profit sharing doesn't fatten their pocketbooks.

No wonder the union leadership is not a fan of profit sharing.

You are a paid organizer with the IAM.
Most industrial unions pay contract organizers.
Do they pay you by the post or are you on salary?

Most unions charge a fee on base hours.
That's why they don't want to fight for medical, 401K match, PS or anything else exclusive of base wages.

Dues or no dues cut, the problem is we are screwed by this continued squabbling.. The NMB owes us an answer. Vote or no vote. Let's move on already. Lombardo is obviously playing politics for whatever reason and it harms TWU and IAM members alike. Everyday the NMB doesn't rule it stalls negotiations by whichever union or unions that are supposed to represent US!!!

Now you wouldn't doubt the sincerity of the twu either the local or international now would you?
It be about time even the most die hard twu and iam members should be asking themselves some questions. Do you want to pressure them? Sign a card if an election
Occurs you could still vote for who ever you desire then the issue will be put ti bed
 
Time has come, anybody who hasn't already signed an AMFA card - now would be a real good time.  At the very least, it always lights a fire under the incumbent unions back side.  Then the tap dance begins.
