The PSA smile was about 5 or 6 inches wide, painted in dull black and was a lot closer to the flight station windows.

Me too. Was born and raised in SAN, so I spent many an afternoon with dad watching the planes come in and take off of Rwy 27. That parking lot on Loring Street was CLOSE.
