I know this is a long shot but I was working on an Airbus about 5 weeks ago. I had my tote and pocket book in the fwd closet, aircraft left and my pocket book fell over, dumping all the contents. I thought I got everything but I've been missing a set of keys since then. It had a little LED flashlight with 2 house keys and a car key to an Acura.
I would have posted this earlier but I've spend the last few weeks retracing my steps, tearing apart all my closets and looking everywhere. I've called airport lost and founds but no luck.
Where does stuff like this go when it's found? I understand if it was in an OHB it would probably go to lost and found or to an agent, but I would assume that the next crew that worked that aircraft would know the keys belonged to a flight attendant.
Acura wants $125 to get me another key, which I really can't afford. 🙁
Long shot, yes. Worth asking about, absolutely.
Thanks.

Philly has a file cabinet for lost and found items near the vending machines and coffee pot in the "B" crewroom. Not sure if other crewrooms have them, you could call the crew resource centers and ask them to check the Lost and Founds in each crewroom.

If you know the tail number, you could have somebody check the closet they could have slid under something.

Good luck.

Try ebay for the Acura key, Ford wanted to charge me about the same for the 'Chipped' key for my Sport Trac, got a blank on the 'bay for $25 bucks.Worth a look.

Good luck finding it but if not I bought an Acura key with chip from Walmart for about $35.

You should be able to go back and look at your trip pairing and get the aircraft's tail number and reference that so you can see where it went and where it's been as well.

Who knows, it might be in the hanger in CLT.

If turned in to the station's lost and found, it will be held there seven days before being sent to "the warehouse" (CLTLZ). (As do unclaimed and unmatched bags) The people there do an amazing amount of detective work in matching lost article reports to found item. Since you keys were lost five weeks ago, they should be there by now (assuming they went to the station's lost and found) Good luck.

I don't know how those keytags offered by many grocery stores work. Has anyone had luck with that?

Call around to different locksmiths they can do it for half the price, just did it for my kids car paid about 60 bucks.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank each of you for your advice, phone numbers, guidance, personal experiences with your own key issues, and help with this situation. This is a personal testimony of the kindness fellow employees offered me, a stranger, and I am very thankful for all the tips and help. Thanks to you I have a phone number to lost article land, several affordable options to replace the costly key, and even a person who offered to make me a replacement key at no charge.
This, my friends, is a humbling and heartwarming token of kindness that I appreciate and very much needed.

Thanks for your time and help. I'll let ya know how the story ends.

Good morning. Here's the update.
International Dan offered to make two keys for my chariot. What's so above and beyond about this is he works and lives in Charlotte and I don't. Kudos and mega thanks for his hopping on a plane, flying to my home town, bringing his computer-chip-programming key making gadget and creating 2 microchipped keys for me with a happy heart and "team" spirit.
Thank you, and thank all of you who take care of your fellow coworkers. I am blessed and humbled.
Make it a great week.
