M&R Transition Update

What I want to know is why are they still talking about senority intergration. All the iam reps in pit say it is nothing less than DOH!!! Is the iam going to give away our senority like they did the profit sharing?? PROBABLY!!! The End
 
Sort of wondered about the senority deal myself? Seems to me there has to be be a rather simple program out there where you plug in the DOH for each class and press a button and everybody is dovetailed together. Hopefully the IAM is not going along with the company's wishes that since AWA does not have lead mechanics , but rather foreman, that they be given they be given automatic lead time and added to the senority list :down:

We do have leads here in the west. We also have sups. The company is at this point adding more leads to the system in anticipation for the east way of doing things. The rumor mill is working overtime here about what will happen with the sups,but that is all it is ,just rumors. 🙂

Is the lead job spelled out in your contract from IBT.Lead jobs are in our IAM contract with there own pay scale.
We also have supervisor/foreman but they are salary.

It is spelled out, but the language is vague at best. It is only a $1.00/hr premium. Here lead seniority is by DOH and not shop seniority like the east. As for the sups the most solid rumor is that they will remain but there will be less of them(either by attrition ot layoff) and that the leads will have more responsibilities after a transition agreement. Sups are also salary here. As a sidenote to an earlier post, we here in the west are adamently opposed to letting any sup being dovetailed into the union ranks with any kind of seniority. When they were hired as sups they made the choice to give up their seniority(that is clearly spelled out in the IBT contract)so if they want to come back from the darkside they can go to the bottom. :up:
 
East side leads are from the day they become leads.
Mech time may be 07/07/99 thats doh as a mech.
Lead time starts when the same guy gets the premium job/lead i.e. 07/07/02.Its a buck more here also.

If the west to the dark side,oh well it was there choice,put em at the bottom.Thats what happens here after 90 days now.They have to take the low position in the system I think.

We Have CRETED People That Is the Main Reason the SENIORITY Integration Team Are Meeting & Have Met.
Creted People are People In the West Q/A,Planner's Etc: Whom HAVE NEVER HAD A UNION.
The Mechanic's & Related Are Rather Simple.

Note the comment from the company about Scope changes. Doug has made it very clear, any agreement must be cost neutral.

Bottom line, you want more money hourly they want the right to farm out the work and cut heads. Simple math. If you are willing to take below industry wages we will allow you to do heavy maintenance.

Don't be fooled. The leader of the Maintenance department Hal baby and his buds in PIT McMuffin and Spinoid would like nothing better than to farm out every single thing they can..

They want to be able to yell at vendors.. Yelling at the union guys gets them nothing. Hal and team are no friend of maintenance technicians.

The M&R isn't that simple! When the Mech's that were fired in '95 were rehired years later, they were brought back in at the same pay scale that they left with plus a percentage raise and a new DOH. If you "simply" dovetail them in, they will revert to the new DOH pay scale and take a cut in pay. It's bad enough that they got fired because of the "meatheads" in charge at the time; now they stand a good chance of getting a pay cut. Nope, it isn't "RATHER SIMPLE" as you state.

They need their original DOH minus the time they were away from the company for TOTAL COMPANY TIMEto ensure they don't take a cut in pay.

Thats why we need a new pay scale,loose the 10 yr crap.Hell the contract doesnt go that long.Ask Tony G and Bill F how they got this in.Better yet tell em to get it out and get back to the 5yr scale...we have east mechs that were topped out that took pay cuts.This is crap. :down: :down: :down:

The firings were from slash and burn managment retaliation crap.They had no union. :down:

😀 Hey Contract! You feisty old goat! I see you must be feeling better. For all you out there in blogger land, please give my friend AWACONTRACT well wishes.Just recently he had an unfortunate run in with a bag tug and will, I am assuming, will be laid up for quite awhile. So I hope he will use his time to recouperate and to also give management as much grief as possible. p.s. We are telling all our kids that an evil Mesa Air ramper ran over Santa with a tug! :lol: :lol:
