MCE seats blocked waaay in advance?

Platinum Pro here ...... Researching DFW to EDI and PHX to EDI flights for May 2024, primarily at this point for timetable planning .... It seems to me (and an AA customer service rep) that an inordinate number of MCE seats appear booked / blocked when one looks at availability (on every. single. flight.) on any given day (across a three day spread of departures). Especially the best seats! I realize certain seats are blocked for special needs such as wheelchair, etc., but normally only a couple are set aside.

Anybody know why these are blocked and if / when they get released (assuming of course that they are not actual bookings).
