I was clearing out some old files when I came across a Master Seniority List from August 15, 2002.

According to that list we had 13,998 active employees in Title 1. The last person on the list was hired August 12, 2002, three days before the list was put out and a month shy of the one year anniversary of 9-11.

What is the new number and what is the dollar value of all those lost jobs?

I think in the mid 10,000 range towards 11,000. But that includes the OSM classification as well.

So lets say 3500 jobs X $80,000(wages plus benifits right?)=$280 million/year.

The figure used by management for each AMT is $100k, so your figure would be very conservative - yet substansial. B)

I have over 20 years with aa and at one time i remember almost 15 thousand mechanics and related!!! I checked jetnet and found as of today there are 10,437 mechanics and related as of 1/27/06 and the last guy is and upgrade in AFW with a seniority date of 8/12/02 but has many more years company seniority. I am sure we have lost at least 500 more since then. I am very glad that the TWU sold the farm to savee jobs and class two stations!!! Why in the hell are most of the class two guys now here at DFW??? (IAD, RNO, PHX, BNA, BDL ....ETC...with more to come) I just can not believe that the company and its paid for union TWU would lie to us, can you???? I would vote for ANY union other than TWU at this point. Time has shown that the TWU is a lap dog union!! We pay them to help AA screw us!!!!!!!! Jim Little is SATAN himself, even cancer would not eat that evil bastard!!!!!! Anyone that makes a large profit by screwing the masses will surely go to hell!! Does anyone still wonder why the Company favored the TWU during the AMFA drive, during the Right to Distribute Lawsuit, and all the way to the National Mediation Board?

No matter what the cost, AA saved money in the long run by insuring the toy union was still on the porperty.

There is some talk here in Tulsa of starting a Teamsters card drive soon.The MAJORITY of people I talk to highly dislike the TWU but are scared of change.

FYI...If you use the NMB list of 18,601--you can subtract 1,410 from that who are gone for good. Subtract another 3,800 on layoff, and the rest are title 2, 3, and 4, along with the 10,400 title 1.

BTW...Don't forget the 3,000+ removed at the NMB. So we are down over 8,200 since the merger, not including the loss of overnight cleaners, which would of been added to our craft and class. So 9,000 would be about the right number of jobs lost since the merger.

There is some talk here in Tulsa of starting a Teamsters card drive soon.The MAJORITY of people I talk to highly dislike the TWU but are scared of change.

I think those who were afraid to sign an AMFA card, at least the ones I've talked with would not hesitate to get on board with the teamsters, They (teamsters} certainly could'nt perform any worse than the toy union has done for its members....SIGN ME UP!

We need to get rid of the TWU NOW! Even if it means voting in the United Watermelon Pickers or the International Association of Ditch Diggers,etc. I'll bet even Bill would sign a card.
