Since the two other LGA threads seem to have fallen by the wayside when there was no "big announcement," I thought I would start a new thread to share this news...

Early this morning I was driving past the US terminal (about 3AM). I always turn my head when I drive past the Shuttle terminal, as you can see the US tails lit up there from the Grand Central. It has been sad enough seeing fewer and fewer planes over the years when driving by the terminal, but last night I saw the unexpected:

The airline that US said "is coming to kill us" - (WN) - had an RON parked at US terminal - GT 22 last night! If they are providing remote parking for WN, couldn't they at least park the plane at GT 8 or 9, away from public view? Or is this more than just remote parking? Maybe WN has now leased remote parking spots at the US terminal as part of the "announcement"??

Actually if you downsize LGA enough a merger with JetBlue might be possible - DP keeps saying mergers need to occur. LH owns a part of JetBlue. The fleets are very compatible. The selling of the E190's would reduce some capacity and you would get them back with JetBlue. Maybe this is why we are not investing in inflight entertainment as they plan to get it with a JetBlue merger.

this was pure speculation on my part - I have no knowledge of a mystery transaction.

US & WN are friends. They used to use each other's terminals in Las Vegas before US downsized their. When US was going after Delta SWA & US were already talking about selling some LGA gates and landing slots if US did acquire Delta.

Southwest has one gate in the Central Terminal and has two overnight aircraft. Southwest is leasing gate 22 for overnight parking, which is not used by the Mainline, Shuttle and Republic aircraft, which requires 7 gates for US Airways overnight aircraft. All of the other LGA gates except one (gate 12) are used by Express operations.

Southwest pays US Airways to park their aircraft overnight on gate 22.

Interestingly, the second night Southwest used the gate their ramp personnel towed an aircraft from the Central Terminal to gate 22. The ramp personnel towed the aircraft to close to the de-ice trucks and actually collided with the truck's boom ripping a whole through the B737s leading edge of the wing damaging the slats and tearing a large 12 inch whole on the bottom of the wing.

Oh for crying out loud... 🙄

Don't let that 'friend' near your liquor cabinet.

And Kirby wonders why LGA is the biggest loser in the system... when the terminal opened in 1992, all gates were US Airways (Mainline / Shuttle) except for 11 & 12. As things changed, Express took over 1-7 and mainline was 8-22. Now Express is 1-11, mainline is 12-21, and Southwest is 22! It is absolutely pathetic what US has done to LGA.

The next livery change US should put a logo of Mickey Mouse on the tail because there running a Mickey Mouse operation. US has a Great opportunity to compete at LGA but there gonna put there tail between there legs and run scared like they always do. I wish they would just Step Up sometimes. By the way I am hearing (rumor) they may announce something this Tuesday. Not hearing that it will be a Big Announcement but just some clarification of whats going to happen with LGA.

Disney runs a great operation. We should come up with another logo.

I heard Mickey Mouse wears a watch with DP's picture on it.

back on topic...It would be nice to see US try and compete for a change instead of the ever "shrink to profitability" that has been tried(and failed) so many times. just like Southwest has run out of big city outlying airports to fly from....US is running out of places to run from.

FUNNY!!

Is it Possible for the Board of Directors to kick Parker and Kirby to the Curb and get someone who is willing to take LGA to profitability and some other stations that dont make money?

Do you feel Parker and Kirby are making all the right decisions? Do you look at them as leaders or 2 clowns? Im sure you dont respect them and there decisions and Im sure the Investors and Board of Directors feel the same way. Our customer service is horrible and I feel the customers that experience US for the first time never come back .We have no IFE on our planes, we tried selling soda , they piss off our workers everyday with the decisions they make, we tried merging with Delta and that pissed everyone off,we run from Southwest anytime they come into one of the airports we operate out of ,we shrank JFK and now were trying to shrink LGA. NY has a population of 9 million people alot of O&D. American, Jetblue and Delta and Continental can make $$$ and we cant because we dont try.How in the world are we shrinking NY the Gateway to this country. Parker and Kirby are sinking this airline because we dont try to compete and conquer(Maybe hes never heard of David and Goliath) . Parker and Kirby pssy out and run scared when something doesnt make money , they just cut it rather than work harder and try to solve the puzzle. They want all of us to work hard and help the company save $$$ but what are they doing? Are they trying to put this company together or are they slowly dismantling it? Do u think I will win the Powerball now that I got all of this off my chest or do you feel if Parker and Kirby dont make US Airways $$$ soon they will both get the boot before the company files chapter 11 which can be soon if this clowning around continues? These guys make no effort to improve customer service. The customer pays US and the customer is always right. We need a powerful leader that we can all stand behind and fight for. Instaed we got clownsrunning a billion dollar company that get laughed at.
