The Walking Dead is filmed one county over and one of the largest movie studios, Pinewood, just built a facility in the county I live in.
 

• A one-stop shop for filmmakers and production companies
• 6 purpose-built sound stages ranging from 15,000 sq ft to 30,000 sq ft
• 300,000 sq ft of workshop, office and production support facilities
• Backlot areas including forests, rivers and open areas

Where I live in NC they film Banshee, they had filmed some episodes of Homeland and up until this season it was filmed in Charlotte.
 
Shallow Hal, Eddie and Juwanna Man were all filmed in Charlotte.
Dawson's Creek was filmed in Wilmington and Wilmington is the third largest city in the US for film and TV behind California and New York.
 
Jaws was filmed on Long Island NY where I am from, also lots of the Godfather scenes were all filmed on Long Island as Francis Ford Coppola the director was from Long Island as was is sister Talia Shire who played in the Godfather movies and the Rocky movie series.
