What's new

New European flight are in SABRE ....

Delta gets paid more than US Air?? For which employee group? Certainly not flight attendants. You should check out our contract before you make statements. www.afausairways.org, in case you don't know.

Not talking about F/A's

One of these days Alice....."Pow" right in the kisser!!

A typical response of a "BIGBUSDRVR".

Then you better learn to say it since you will be USAIRWAYS soon!

Nope, Doug is dreaming of "DELTA". Please read your 425K form www.sec.gov.

Thanks for the link-I was curious about that. I wish I could reciprocate, but our pay scales are not in a contract-and are therefore not published on a website, so I only know what I make.
I think it depends on seniority. A 14-year F/A at US will make what a 12-year DL F/A makes on 01/01/09. Until then, DL tops out higher; which isn't saying much, since AirTran will top out at $40/hr in 2008 or 2009-higher than many "major" airlines!

I thought US's 767s were extended range. Many moons ago I thought CLT-HNL proving runs were done and were successful, but I could be wrong.
US's 767-200s were originally purchased with Low MTOW ratings to save $ and consequently have a full load range of less than ABOUT 4200nm. I understand that US has approached/is going to approach Boeing for a cost to re-certify several if not all of the 767s to a higher MTOW. In the meantime, flights to ATH, using either the 333 (which was the original choice) or 767 will fly weight restricted - at least westbound. If US had another available long range aircraft, they'd very likely also have started Moscow from PHL this Spring.

I know that we / US AIRWAYS / had a meeting in Moscow with local authorities about starting flights PHL-DME ( Domodedovo airport ) but there were a lot of paper problems and dissagreements from both sides . I am sure after completing all nessesary documentation we will start this flight shortly . The question is on which aircraft ???

Knowing the hassle that Russian authorites throw with new flights, I think that the plan has always been add this later. I am surpirsed that we would talk to DME an not SVO. Actually I'm thrilled, DME is a much nicer facility than SVO and DL can have that dump all to themselves.

Maybe if we offered to paint Putin on the side of the plane we will be welcomed with open arms. 🙄

So what kind of deal/arrangements were made with the PHL gate situation to accomodate these new flights? PLEASE don't say they'll be jockeying aircraft around and offloading passengers with the peoplemovers....

It will be very interesting if they didn't get the gates worked out on A-West. Can you imagine on a bad weather day.
Everyone will be running around with their heads cut off.
