not to mention DAL pays more than usair and one reason why usair employees is so eager to merge with DAL! Who can blame usair employees for wanting to get paid more?!

What's the point of having the destination(s) if you can't buy tickets (easily)? I just spent 20 minutes on usairways.com but so far the only progress I've made is that there is a $759 fare available for PHL-BRU for the dates that I would be interested in. However the www site seems to have trouble getting past that. Oh well.
 
So what kind of deal/arrangements were made with the PHL gate situation to accomodate these new flights? PLEASE don't say they'll be jockeying aircraft around and offloading passengers with the peoplemovers....
They plan to leave PHL at 4 pm.
 
That's just the ATH flight, which works out to nice timing with the arrival overseas, too. Now on any given summer day, US will be running 19(?) transatlantic departures between 4pm and 850pm (with many in the 8pm hour)

But those 19 aircraft will also be arriving earlier in the day to make up those flights. Where will they stack them all up? Back to A-East?

I already said in an earlier post that all 3 of the new flights are (currently) being scheduled IN and OUT of Terminal B - not A.
 
I think AvDaily may have gotten the story wrong. Because they are reporting that PHL and LCC have come to an agreement for additional gates for LCC. But that's in the headline. The article doesn't definitively state that. It sort of infers it from LCC's announcement. We'll see.

If some of those TA flights are coming into B, how will they route pax to immigration and customs? Sounds like the agreement announced will give the needed gates in A-East to supplement A-West.

With the existing People Movers - like IAD.
US did this frequently in the past before A-West was available.

However, with today's announcement by PHL, it appears the problem no longer exists. DL will not be moving to A-East - at least not until next Fall.

There are some fine people at usair. However, usair is LCC, = Low Class Carrier, in my opinion. That is why they want to buy Delta. Usair goes nowhere. Look at the debt they have! Good grief! DAL flys to fabulous destinations. DAL has the equipment and crew to do the job. It is so obvious usair employees want the merger to happen, it's a great advantage to them.

Usair can't schedule, handle bags,or intergrate the senority list, not to mention DAL pays more than usair and one reason why usair employees is so eager to merge with DAL! Who can blame usair employees for wanting to get paid more?! The merger is NOT going to happen. Can't fly the planes without the pilots. It will take too long to train usair piolts to fly the equipment usair wants and therefore not cost effective. Parker....is a Barker, his bark is worse than his bite. He only made the merger annoucement so that his pathetic stock would Take Off! And it did! He should be happy, he can cash out. Please check the website www.sec.gov and check it out. If anyone has stock in LCC, cash out now, while it's at the top.

Get used to the no merger idea.

Outside of a 'very select group of employees that live in ATL'......hardly anyone wants this merger/takeover/travesty to take place . I for one will most likely leave the industry rather than deal will the almost certain pissy surliness that will come about. This is a match made in HELL! :down:

I'm not whining. I barely use the IFE, and prefer my own ipod and book. I'd prefer there not be overhead monitors because I can't stand the glow in a dark cabin. But if US is going to continue expanding just 100 miles down the TP from Continental, they may wanna pay attention to the competition. It's not like the Europe fares are any more or any less LCC than CO/AA/UA/the rest.
 
Those flight oppertating out of Terminal B are only temperarly. US will get more gates on A-East starting in October.

FWIW, I spend about what you make in a month (assuming you do what your username would imply) on a carrier at least 4 to 6 times/year on a TATL business class ticket. Guess who that won't be with?
