New Guest Passes are In

buckeyfan, do not listen to this retard. he just likes to stir the pot. he is the most negative poster on the usairways board. don't let him get to you. the majority of the east based employees don not feel as nearly as he does.

ETOPS I have to disagree with you. 700UW is not really a "negative" poster. His views are different but give him credit...at least he is consistent. The remark he made about non-reving was really out of character and everyone will slip up now and again. His style for the most part is very business and "matter of fact" remaining unemotional (which can't be said of others)...but "negative poster" I gotta disagree. Be careful...when you point a finger 3 are pointing back at ya.

After finishing work today I thought I would see if anything was on this board about the ETC for west employees. Too bad I work in rez and need to come here to see how the system works. Of course, as usual we were dumped this morning with info in mailbox on the new system. Too bad we didnt have access to the ETC from work, no one had a clue as to how to access it and the new system threw our computers into loops that we could not escape, tied up our computers while everyone ran around trying to figure out what was happening. Pax with old flexis, who didnt know the new ones were out were quoted fares for new flexis and when sups were faced with that advised agents possibly they would need more flexis to travel but later agents were advised list flexi users but dont quote prices-tomorrow they would have old fares back in our system-its a joke! My question for anyone on this board is -how do they differentiate between listing priorities from MON or last week compared to new listings priorities? Employees are now a sa3p and Mon they were a sa2p, Mon family members traveling without employee or retired employees were sa3p. How is the airport and gate agents supposed to figure out who listed before or after 26apr06 and what their prioritiy really is? Prior to this new system Hp agents had access to YV(Mesa employee) ids to make sure they were active employees now we can only see former HP employees and US employees. After a conf between sups and CSD and agents(someone I know because again I dont work for this company) just listed the mesa employees and by process of elimination figured a priority level. Anyone know what a Freedom employees priority is? Rez certainlly doesnt! After hours of taking calls a conf call was called for management because they needed to find out what the deal was -while this was happening pricing went down, web front end was down and pricing problems were also throwing rez computers into loops frustrating many many employees. Its almost too funny. I cant leave until I see how this episode ends! Will they do something about the lousy management? Anyone want to comment on how well this dept really runs? It doesnt. While this was all happening day agents were informd there had been an OPEN HOUSE in rez the nite before. Anyone could walk thru the building to see if they wanted to work there. FFOCUS preferred elite members and ff elite that want to say hello and meet agents have been denied access to the building but they let ANYONE in and I have heard they will continue to do this on Mondays. We are extremely understaffed and all we hear from Scott Kirby is "when we are fully staffed." I think the point of this post was not only to rant but to tell all of you if you have any questions on the new ETC or pass related questions REZ is not the place to call. They are totally clueless due to no info being given. Once again the excuse is "the merger." Being the Mama and all I dont say things like this but what I want to tell them is "BITE ME-no, its not the merger, its the morons that cant communicate info. Im not blaming the IT guys and yes we have all said we would wait for the ETC to make sure it was done properly, but guess what, we waited and they still screwed it up. I feel very sorry for the ato trying to clean up the mess that rez is making this week. Anyone from corp want to add their two cents about why rez is so screwed up and no one will clean it up? Rant over. Ps Agents with non dependents did not know when the ETC would be active and now are ***** off because they will need to use passes for non dependents without any warning. Im sure there will be more but if you are traveling on west side make sure you check priority of other pax checked in before you, no guarantee the priority list will be correct.

What about flexi pass travelers and does the airport have time to fix the mess and sort thru the non revs? John, I was thinking of PHX and LAS.
Simplifying.... D.O.H. for pass travelers traveling with employees/data base. travelers traveling without employees/data base first come first servr.East has been doing it for years with little problem

Dont really wanna start this argument again--but using check in time is just as simple.

Plus--looking at the new website--when you list, I dont see any way of knowing DOH of everyone else listed. Using check in time--you know that if there are 6 seats left and 7 SA3's listed--you check in as early as you can!

And you can check in 12 hours prior.

If we were still just and East or West Coast airline, operating in 1-2 times zones, then first come, first serve may work on a somewhat even basis. At HP, you were primarily a West Coast operator with primarily contract employees on the East side. Most all the employees were in the 2 times zones out west. The same could be said for US. Our primary focus was on the east and the vast majority of employees were in the 2 times zones in the east.

Now, as a combined carrier, our employee base is spread primaryily over 4 times zones and our flying is spread over 11 times zones.
Let's look at one possible scenario. Say I am in FCO and I am taking the long journey to LAX. You can check-in 12 hours before the flight to PHL and be checked in all the way to LAX. Say I was flying FCO-PHL-PHX-LAX because the PHL-LAX flight was full. I could be checking in for the PHX-LAX flight almost 24 hours before departure! In my eyes, that gives me an unfair advantage over every other non-rev that is trying to get on that flight. It gives a disadvantage to those employees that live in PHX. The same can be said for an employee trying to get to Europe. If I am in LAX and connecting thru PHL to get to AMS, departing LAX at 7am, I can check in at 7pm PST (10pm EST). That means I am on the stand-by list for the PHL-AMS flight almost 20 hours before departure. The earliest that an Eastie can get on the list is 6am EST.
Given the distances that we travel and the concentration of employees over more times zones, seniority, in my eyes, is the policy that offers a more equal playing field for all. (And yes, I do realize that East is a more senior airline the West).

That is just my opinion....

John, What I have been referring to is the curremt situation as to the NEW passes and the switchover from paper to electronic and the new boarding priorities on the west side. Our boarding priority levels were different from the east but now have been changed to correspond with the east. This situation has NOTHING to do with the future of DOH or CHECKIN TIME!!!! We all get that you want to board DOH and we understand your position but get this, we do not agree with you. Just a different point of view. Many west employees are tired of adopting east policies. Not necessarily regarding pass travel but other company policies. An example, booking DM tkt within 2 weeks of travel and charging 75.00 fee. HP FF agents are apalled that we would even consider this and if this will be part of the DM program are prepared for the onslaught of irates. Was this a part of the DM program, I dont know if it was and if we are adopting this policy its stupid. The RTFC garbage from the east is another policy that was adopted and makes my skin crawl. West employees(rez-I hear from them) wonder why they would adopt policies from an airline in bankrupcy. They dont really care about your pay cuts or pension losses when they have never had the higher pay or pensions. They feel they have contributed to the SUCCESS of HP and hope Tempe doesnt forget or overlook their contributions. The point here is there are 2 sides to this argument. I think both sides have valid points and we will have to wait for the decision. If you think your posts will convince anyone to change their mind you are wrong, they just start to get a little old. Chill. We will all live with the decision whether we like it or not.

Well said, PhxMama. If the final decision is seniority--I wont' be thrilled, but will live with it. Unfortunately, I think there will be many out there (from both "sides") that dont' feel the same. If their "side" isn't chosen, some of those people will probably use it as an excuse for more negativity.

Amen. When the final decision is made, they had better fully communicate the reasoning behind their decision and counter every argument with an explanation of why they decided the other route was the way to go. If how they rolled out the ETC program is an example of how they will explain their decisionmaking, they will divide this company more than it is now. I think I preferred voting on Coke or Pepsi!
