If anyones paid notice to the IBT campaign tactics of late....they now provide a no responce to factual diatribe..an effective tactic when caught in the midst of a continual misinformation and deceit propaganda campaign.
already it is common knowledge they have not come anywhere near their target 35% card campaign.now it appears they have had to duck and cover to try and defend a continuing collapsing effort. 😉 further silence only supports these claims.
we wish to give respect to the valiant effort although plagued with misinformation as provided so far.thank you. 😉

You know I don't represent the IBT or IAM. I would prefer to continue in a non-represented status but representation is being forced upon many of us. As an outsider looking in it appears if IBT succeeds it will be better for the mechanics on both sides. Maybe your right...there's no chance in h - e double hockey sticks the IBT will force a vote. But if there is an election do you really think the IAM will have it in the bag? Until the day comes when the NMB makes the IAM our union the non-represented group at US West still clings to hope we will be IBT and not IAM. And your argument the CBA will stay inplace...well maybe...maybe not. Depends on what the NMB rules. So long as the IBT has a chance there is hope. There is no hope of a better contract if the IAM becomes our union. Unless of course the company voluntarily reopens negotiations with the IAM which IMO is not so far fetched...an outside possibility but wouldn't be a big surprise to me. Guess I still have a little Koolaide left in me 🙂

PS Took my new bass boat out to Pleasant this weekend. It's sweet! You should Non-rev out here sometime and I'll show ya Bass fishin western style!

The IAM/US CBA will remain in effect even the ibt admits this fact.

Which means the same amount of work comes back in-house with either union. The IBT has grown in membership at AWA the last 5 years with the back shops coming back and the increased phase checks, hmmmm, how many jobs gone at US.

There would be alot more jobs lost if we were under the current IBT contract.

i must agree....under the present IBT contract there are no provisions for inhouse heavy maintenance as at U and i don't see Parker splurging for tooling and such.IBT makes all types of verbal guarantees but the present contract IBT has doesn't carry the work in the same way as U/IAM.
a very iffy proposition at best. 😉

I really think it boils down to what happens with the NMB ruling and then a counter by IBT/IAM for a runoff.
single carrier w/no runoff both contracts will have to be transitioned.one contract(merged basically) survives..
runoff vote,its a different story....winner of represntation would maintain the other contract until expiration.

1. The TEAMSTERS have brought work back in-house that was lost before the IBT was on the property.

2. WE lost C-Check before the IBT got HERE and you have lost work while the IAM has been on property.

3. With the IBT if we do the work it comes back in-house as have a lot of work that has been farmed out and the TEAMSTERS got that work back for us.

4. The IBT contract we are under now has nothing to do with the US East.
The only contract that the US East need to look at is the NEW IBT CONTRACT that the IBT Negotiation Committee and the Company are working on at this time.
The IAM contract is a wash out until 2009.

5. The IBT has put STRONGER SCOPE LANGUE in the new Contract to try to bring back work IN-HOUSE AND UNION MEMBERS on layoff that the IAM has let down and sold out.
