Parker even admitted w/o this merger/aquisition/fairytale AWA woulda been in the tank in a year.
besides,you didn't have to take wage and concession cuts as your were bottom of the barrel according to ATSB...we did.... 😛 ...so what we have here is two loser airlines making a great last stand for survival together....in the face of an Iranian madman who in all likelyhood will run oil up past $100 making all the best laid plans moot in the near future.like i said ,be thankful U went BK again...you have a job because of it. Aren't we all doing what we have to in order to survive??? NEITHER airline was in a very good spot and U was worse off.......2 BK's in a short amount of time.

I for one, will be thankful when I have NOT LOST everything I have worked for. I will be thankful WHEN I have a choice and make that choice. I will NOT be thankful when someone crams their BK contract down my throat.

WE HAVE A VOTE??? Not the CSR's!!!!! Nope, they are talking "transitioning into CWA agreement." Now, explain that crap to me? Teamsters were gun-ho on their campaign to vote them in to represent us, but now, we get NOTHING! Very, very little communication (until now with meetings today and tomorrow), deceit in believing we were only covered by the CWA grievance procedure in their contract (although one was already in place with IBT prior to merger), per the "interim agreement," and now, HP employees are being forced into a contract THEY NEVER HAD A VOTE ON! BULL....

Yep, they knocked on our doors, called, and now nothing! Right now I'm not a fan! I'm pissed off like a lot of people, and starting tomorrow, they will know how I feel, that's for durn sure!

Unions for the most part look after themselves first whether it be IAM, IBT or the A-S-S. I'll bet the top union brass never turned a wrench or put foot on a ramp when it was 110 plus or -10. Just a bunch of lawyers behind the scenes and front men/women to stir the pot to make the membership think they are doing something for them. Some facts to disprove my thinking would be comforting.

Depressing all this union bickering back and forth. When will IAM and IBT do the right thing a work together for the combined membership? Never... and you know why? Because their ethics are not on high ground. They hate each other and hate breeds disorganization. Teamwork on the other hand breeds success! There is no "I" in teamwork...kinda ironic....IAM and IBT both start with I!

Please correct me if I am mistaken........but I thought that the CSR transition agreement was something that was worked out between the different unions. And if that's true, I'm thinking that the union representatives are acting in the members behalf so.........when the union reps agree (acting on the members behalf) wouldn't that cease the door knocking, etc. And the new organization, or whatever they are calling it, that was formed by both unions is the "new representation."

I feel for ya Bambi........us currently non represented employees may be/will be acreeded into a union with NO say as to whether or not we want to join and into a contract that we had NO say in or any part of. Who knows if we will even be recognized as an eligible voting member if it comes to vote for which union would be the representing union.

Dell, I don't often disagree with your insight, but in this case you are, well, smoking the good stuff if you believe HP needed US.

Or, to put it another way: HP might have been facing the tank (after turning a profitable quarter, of course), but US was at the bottom.

HP makes this deal folks--not US.

AWA (HP) The Employees at HP kept it alive not the upper management. We worked hard to keep this airline ALIVE JUST SO DP AND THE BOYS CAN SELL ITS HARD WORKING EMPLOYEES OUT.
ALL WE SEE IS A AIRLINE THAT WAS ON ITS WAY OUT AND WE CAME IN AND SAVED THE DAY AND NOW WE PAY TO KEEP YOU AT THE OLD USAIR IN OUR JOBS.
SO when We seem to be upset about all this merger stuff sit back and think what we did for you and as for the(QUOTE)( HP might have been facing the tank)(MIGHT IS THE KEY WORD). The HP employees have given up a lot HAS HAVE the US east but WE had brought AWA back from the dead and it was making MONEY( When was the last time US made money).
PLZ. don't take this wrong(WE AT AWA ARE STILL GIVING UP TO SAVE THIS NEW AIRLINE AND YOUR JOBS).
When you work for a airline this is just a part of the job and it does suck. We all know the Employees keep airlines ALIVE. So when do the upper boys help out?Why not add 1 or 2 Dollars to a ticket and GET OUT OF THE EMPLOYEES BACK POCKET.
