New IBT Tactic

US Airways Group owns AWA.

Thanks again for proving my point.

You can try to spin it anyway you want, but AWA holdings is owned by US Airways Group.

And US Airways Inc, is not and was not Barbell.

2005 and Beyond: Another merger, another re-branding

New livery of combined airline, announced by America West and US Airways on Aug. 23On May 19, 2005, US Airways Group announced that it would be acquired by Arizona-based America West Holdings Corporation (parent company of America West Airlines), whose strength in the West would complement US Airways' routes in the Northeast, Europe, and the Caribbean. The new entity retains the US Airways name, its Dividend Miles frequent flyer program, and participation in the Star Alliance (subject to the approval of partner United Airlines).

What you fail to realize US Airways Group is not a new company it have been around for years and has and is the parent of US Airways and other companies such as Piedmont, PSA, Allegheny, Material Services Inc, and a few others.

As it has been posted before there are mamy types of mergers:
MERGER
n. 1) in corporate law, the joining together of two corporations in which one corporation transfers all of its assets to the other, which continues to exist. In effect one corporation "swallows" the other, but the shareholders of the swallowed company receive shares of the surviving corporation. A merger is distinguished from a "consolidation," in which both companies join together to create a new corporation. 2) in real property law, when an owner of an interest in property acquires a greater or lesser interest in the same property, the two interests become one. Examples: a person with a life estate is given the title to the property by inheritance, the life estate is merged with the titled interest. 3) another important form of merger occurs when a person acquires two parcels of land which were once a single lot that had been divided into two lots by a "lot split" granted by the city or county. If the minimum lot size has been increased by changes in local ordinances and the two lots are now sub-standard size, the buyer who acquires title in the two lots may find that they are "merged" into one lot and he or she has lost the right to build a house on each lot. To avoid this problem, the buyer should make sure title in each lot is obtained under a different name, i.e. husband taking one, and wife the other.
We are looking at a "consolidation" not like anything you have done in the past. You "swallowed" Piedmont, PSA, Allegheny. This is a new ball game, and we can see who is getting desperate.

IAM Asks NMB for Quick US Airways Decision
December 15, 2005 -

Subj: US Airways/America West
NMB File No. CR-6886

Via Facsimile & Regular U.S. Mail
Ms. Read Van de Water
Chairperson
National Mediation Board
1301 K Street, N.W.
Suite 250 East
Washington, D.C. 20572

Dear Ms. Van de Water:

This letter concerns the International Association of Machinist’s application for a determination by the National Mediation Board (“NMBâ€￾ or the “Boardâ€￾) that a single transportation system exists on US Airways. The IAM filed its application with the NMB on September 29, 2005, NMB File No. CR-6886.

Since that time, there have been numerous submissions and communications by the parties at the direction of NMB Investigator Eileen Hennessey. We believe that sufficient information has been given to the Board to render a decision that US Airways and America West Airlnes are now operating as a single carrier. Our members are growing frustrated by the delay in this process. Inasmuch as they stand to lose seniority, protection of their work, and a possibility of participating in a defined benefit pension plan, we are on their behalf requesting that this process be expedited to its ultimate conclusion.

In addition, with the large number of employees who are on furlough status with recall rights at US Airways, there is a strong possibility of decertification if an election were to be conducted. Our members are very cognizant of that fact, and this has created a very hostile environment in the workplace. The very existence of US Airways is now at stake and is in your hands. Please do not permit this disruptive dispute to drag on. Rather, we respectfully request that you exercise the authority of your office to resolve this dispute immediately.
Sincerely,
Robert Roach, Jr.
GENERAL VICE PRESIDENT

You are twisting the content around YES AWA is going to be under the US AIRWAYS name, but AWA is the controling factor opperatting under the US AIRWAYS GROUP name.

If you had any UAIRQ stock it was zeroed out. Can you understand what happened here? The old US AIRWAYS GROUP gone AWA took over and keep the name. View attachment 4149
