New International Destination from CLT

As a employee that works in International in CLT......I am so freakin excited!

PARIS fIRST CLASS INTERNATIONAL, Its my Destiny!!!!!

This nonstop service will be operated with Boeing 767 aircraft with seating for 18 in Envoy class and 186 in the main cabin. The flying goes on sale Nov. 8 at usairways.com and through other sales channels. Schedule detail is as follows:

Well, not quite accurate. There will be 17 Envoy seats available for customers on the CLT-CDG flights, not 18.

Kind of like AA didnt initate their service to China as well Huh FWAAA??? US isnt the only one.. Hows number 2 treating you?

And like UA. And like DL (cutting down its frequencies.)

Don't stress out Hi-C-Camp. Some folks, will continue to bash US for the heck of it. Lack of/limited resources causing them to overlook the other majors?

OoOOO ME SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!! *doing the happy gnome dance* who wants to do a 25 hour layover in Paris with me? Be warned I take pictures of everything and will make you an internet celebrity. I'll YOUTUBE you!!

YAY PARIS!! YAY YAY YAY YAY!!!! I can't wait (to go and not have to connect)

BONJOUR!!! AUR REVOIR!! CREPE!!! CROISSANT!!!!! I better bust out the Rosetta Stones. I'm already working on my spreckening. My list of too much sh*t to do just got longer!! OY VE!!!

Much of deep South America is subject to restrictive bilateral treaties limiting the number of airlines and flights.

France, on the other hand, is Open Skies, meaning anyone can fly there from anywhere.

Besides, China is highly resticted (and coveted) yet US chose not to initiate service when allowed to. What makes you think US would actually initiate service to EZE or GIG if it were given rights to fly there?

Both Argentina and Brazil have reduced their restrictions so I think we could start flying there if we wanted to and got approval. I think the only thing stopping us is available aircraft which should be solved soon. In last week's state of the airline conference call, a question was asked if we had plans to start Tokyo and other Asian markets soon. The answer was our hubs are not very well situated for travel to Asia. We are better off concentrating on Europe and South America. So my guess is we'll see service to EZE and GIG before long.

I'll go when I get my bennies back and uhh...just make sure Corp Security won't be playing Tag with us 😉

Not talking about PVG...

The OP said they didn't "initiate" service to China. That was an incorrect statement. AA has service to China. They deferred an increase in service. US doesn't even have a fungus infected toenail in China.

I think the author was invoking the classic line from "View from the Top," a comedy film released in 2003, rather than stating fact.

(I'm not sure if I should be smugly satisfied that I knew that, or embarrassed that I knew that.)

I'm afraid you don't really understand the international market place and it's importance to US Airways survival.

Your rattletrap equipment, authoritarian management, clue-less yield management department and indifferent employees have driven away more high-paying customers than you ever dreamed of skippy. I am one of them.

One question: if the int'l market (and this is where I make my money so listen closely) is so vital to Usair's survival then when might you actually acquire the necessary equipment to make the operation run smoothly? Never mind the motivated employees to properly operate the routes.

How many times are you going to re-announce an order of the same Airbus planes?

Yeah, like the GM/Chrysler debacle headed our way, your airline has no idea of the cost of being distracted.

And it is all Doug Parkers fault!

US AIR was a big "International Airline" before it merged with the regional America West!

Good and correct post.

US to anywhere Europe is way too little too late. And US does not have the equipment or brassones to go any further. Yeah, TLV will be very short-lived.

Now CLT to anywhere South America is a lucrative option.

But similar to GM wasting time & resources on acquiring Chrysler (taking your eye off the ball there, eh Rick Wagoner??) USair should be firts focusing on becoming profitable on their bread & butter markets.

All this other stuff is just a life-threatening distraction.

(any bets on when, not if, GM and USair perish if they keep up this silly behavior?0

PHL-TLV will be a very POPULAR ROUTE, CO runs TWO - 777's and that is the most PROFITABLE ROUTE and with the Jewish Population in the NE. PHL TLV will be a money maker. TWA ran that route out of JFK along with TOWER AIR. Flights were packed it was daily 747 service with lots of CARGO.

Hair splitting. You knew what they meant.
