US Airways names Huele as senior VP of technical operations

US Airways on Wednesday named Hal Heule as senior vice president of technical operations, making him responsible for the combined airlines' maintenance and engineering operations.

Late last month, US Airways and America West combined operations to become the nation's fifth-largest domestic carrier. The airline has its largest hub in Charlotte, N.C.

Heule, 57, had been senior vice president of technical operations at Tempe-based America West and then senior VP of safety and regulatory compliance at US Airways.

In his new position, Heule will oversee line maintenance, base maintenance, engineering, reliability, materials and planning, maintenance records and support, quality control and quality assurance for US Airways, which will be headquartered here.

Texas striaght shooter. Nice guy. Communication skills good. Will acknowledge you when passing by in the hallway. Good to have him back as senior VP tech ops!

Everthing you read is Tempe is the new center of the new US Airways.

Hope they are up to it.

Having talked to him in reguards to issues several times I can only second what Eric says about him. He makes every effort to be fair to the techs.

Aren't you guys at US-East afraid of an ensuing labor shortage? I mean, when people start dropping from heart attacks because someone actually listened to them for once!

Looks like things might begin to change for the better for you guys.

I cannot believe what I'm reading..

For a change ,it's nice to see HP is predominate and those US MISFITS have VERY LITTLE SAY SO>>

better hope those misfits don't sink your little ship....

I really hope he visits the East Coast division and see what type of people have been running the maintenance department. Come out on the floor and ask some questions...he may learn something!!! Never met Presti when he was here, but I really doubt he even knew where the hangars where located!!! All I heard about him was he was a loudmouth and loved the "F" word!!

😀 The good news is that presto-change-o is out. Hopefully the trickle down effect is comming. All prestos hinchmen are squirming. They are all acting the nice guy now. But a snake is still a snake. Hopefully the new V.P. will rid the airline of the vermon. The End

He needs to put Gary and Tom in PIT out to the curb ASAP.

We were briefed last week that the organizational chart that exists today is very "fluid" and expect more changes in the organizational chart as the merger comes together.

They are putting out the word they feel they are fine. They say their interviews with the new VP went well. Maybe I'll send him an email and explain some of their misgivings.
