By now, the new ticket jackets have probably reached a station near you. Word has it that the printing costs were paid for by the Army National Guard; the jackets include a postage paid card on which you can request a free Guard t-shirt and a DVD "Be a Soldier" simply by talking with a recruiter. The cards do note there is no obligation.
While these new ticket jackets do include the invitation to join the Guard, they are also noteworthy for what they lack:
US Airways logo (there is a US Airways Vacations ad)
Star Alliance logo
and......
any US Airways phone numbers!!!
A number of people (both employees and customers) are wondering how these oversights could have gotten past those responsible for overseeing these matters. I don't mean to start a debate and whether or not an ad for joining the National Guard is appropiate on ticket jackets.
But including the company's phone numers is a pretty basic thing!
