What's going on with US Airways flights still have open about 80 to 95 percent (economy) seats available on February 2008 at all US domestic flights worse than other major airlines are very well about 75 to 100 percent seats sold out already?

Maybe consumers are not happy with US??????

What do you think US Airways could ground up to 87 737s unless if consumers to buy fewer tickets? Slash more flights at some or more routes?

What you are saying is "advanced bookings are bad." Do you have any reports to share that can demonstrate low bookings?

Maybe the traveling public has finally decided that they don't want to spend half their winter vacation in PHL, which is where they will inevitably be stuck, while their neighbors fly overhead on non-stops to Florida and the Caribbean.

I'm sorry but to even the most casual one time a year flier Us airways reputation is NO secret. It's made the news enough times and couple that with stories from friends, family, coworkers, the mailman it's quite possible they are booking away. I know many feel that the average Joe with kids in toe flying once a year to see Aunt Peggy will pay the lowest price possible. Well I think US would really be relying on a lot of Joe's then. Nobody wants to spend an eternity in that DUMP of an airport with nowhere to go if you get stuck.

You think US is bad  take a look at Delta

WASHINGTON -- The airline industry's on-time performance through the first 10 months of this year was the second worst on record, but delays in October fell compared with a year ago, according to the Transportation Department.

The nation's 20 largest carriers reported an on-time arrival rate of 78.2 percent in October, up from 72.9 percent in the same month a year ago, but down from 81.7 percent in September, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics.

Nearly 64 percent of flights on Atlantic Southeast Airlines were delayed in October. The Delta Connection carrier, which is owned by SkyWest Inc., had the lowest on-time arrival rate, followed by Alaska Airlines at 70.1 percent and Comair at 74.4 percent. Comair had three flights that were delayed by at least 15 minutes more than 90 percent of the time.

It's not surprising that advanced booking for February are down at USAirways. The airline is quickly becoming the transportation of last resort for many people. When the real airlines are booked up, USAirways will then see a rise in bookings.

Will emptier flights mean that I will get my luggage the same day?

Just curious where you got your data. What airlines/flights are already sold out for Feb? We're talking 2 months out. Some flights/dates might be (Spring Break starts early), but everyone else except US at 75-100% sold out? I think thats being a TAD dramatic.
