There is nothing in any of them that rations care.
I think you know that, but I am now having my doubts.

Rationing of care happens in all other countrys with gov run health insurance. It doesn't take much to see how it can and will happen here. There specific verbage in the bill that calls for gov advisory boards to determine necessity of care and procedures.

if we have the means to save a life , we should take every possible action in order to do so ....
What you refer to as death panels is Obama's panel who decide which procedures will be allowed and which would not.
Its in the bill FT.
So if you are in need of a specific procedure to prolong your life and they have deemed it not worthy for you....I guess you could then identify with your claim of a death panel.

Section 1233 of House Resolution 3200 puts our senior citizens on a slippery slope and may diminish respect for the inherent dignity of each of their lives.... It is egregious to consider that any senior citizen ... should be placed in a situation where he or she would feel pressured to save the government money by dying a little sooner than he or she otherwise would, be required to be counseled about the supposed benefits of killing oneself, or be encouraged to sign any end of life directives that they would not otherwise sign.

First of all, please don't equate the validity of the arguments. Dell has consistently ducked the most basic question to show all of us exactly where the "death panels" are in the legislation. Of course, he can't because it's just not there. If the debate can't be waged honestly...then it's not really a debate. It's just noise.

While you want to point to the DMV, why don't you also acknowledge the same people that we count on to heroically save the lives of our soldiers wounded in the field?...the same people that we count on to defend our shores?...the same people we count on to respond when we dial 911 because a house is on fire? or someone is having a heart attack? or the same people we count on to reliably get a letter cross country in 3 days for less than 50 cents? I'm a big fan of FedEx, but try walking in there with 50 cents to send a letter and then wait to see how long it will take them to stop laughing!
While I doubt there is anyone here who is a more proud capitalist than I am, there are some things that are NOT best left in the hands of the free market. National defense, police, fire, transportation infrastructure - all are good examples of things that should not be driven by profit motives. Every other industrialized country in the world has - to one degree or another - figured out that health care coverage belongs on that list, and most of those countries have far better outcomes than the current US system.
IMHO, the truly valid debate here is whether health care coverage can and/or should be reformed under a market-based model (tax incentives, removal of the insurance company buffer between patients and doctors as a method to reduce costs via competition, etc) vs. a model that includes more government involvement (as most countries have done). THAT would be an actual debate...not big lies like "death panels."
