I've been checking the flight loads to MNL for the last few weeks trying to plan a trip. Every day, every flight has been "-21", "-16", "-22" -- - they all appear to be oversold regardless of the flights.. Has anyone had any luck showing up and getting on with these type of numbers?

The flights to MNL always are chock-a-block shoved full. The best time to travel to the Philippines is Sept-Oct before the holiday season. The flights are full because NWA is the only US carrier into the Philippines and most people would rather fly a US carrier than trust PAL.

If you can get to NRT you can try getting in ID-90 on JAL. I have used them many times to get to MNL and have never had a problem getting on. I have only used Northwest once and it was tight getting on.
Thanks. I think I will try Philippine Airlines from SFO or LAX on a ZED. On the way there, it stops in GUM but coming back it's non-stop. 🙂
