"One of the people close to the talks said Tuesday night that a small group of Northwest seniority list pilot negotiators want thousands of young Delta pilots to go to the bottom of the combined seniority list as part of agreeing to a deal on seniority."
ALPA pilots wanting to staple other ALPA pilots? 😱
I thought only the big bad Sky Nazi types wielded the stapler...
Gee, what a surprise, after all United is the one that screwed the system (DOH) up back with the first usair merge. Have fun kids![]()
WTFO!
Where did you come up with that nonesense? UAL pilots NEVER demanded DOH in the proposed merge with US Air back in 2000. It was the other way around. Sound familiar to what US Airways/American West are currently going through? Get a grip!!!
Cheers,

UAL tipped the scale at ALPO national in favor of "career expections" instead of DOH if you remember because we were a more senior group. That's what I was talking about.WTFO!

It's also amazing how one groups preception of Fair will always be construed as unfair by another. From my vast experience of 6 years in a represented job, it seems to me that all the union solidarity is prefaced by the phrase, "you can be first after me."

Kinda' like the DL non-contract employees perception that it would not be fair for the combined DL/NW pilot group to receive up to $100,000 + pay raises for the merger!
sorry, disagree... date-of-hire is the only fair way. if you have gotten up for 20 years and put that uniform on as a loyal employee day after day, then you are entitled to your 20 years.US and HP pilots are in a pickle, and it seems as your pilots will be the same.
I just think of it this way: It isn't fair for HP pilots, who have worked for a company that is nowhere near as old as US to simply be throw to the bottom of the list. What happens when lay-offs start happening? The senior HP guy is at risk? No, I think they should have some kind of integration.
