NW''s New Luggage Policy

NW has reduced the maximum weight of the free allowance to 50 pounds. Has any other airlines adopted this? The policy is 0-50 free (2 bag limit), 51-70 is $25, and 71-100 is $50. Over 100 pounds has to go freight. This should trend the aircraft to be lighter eventually saving on fuel. The current policy is 70-100 is $80, so there is some savings to the customer who needs to pack more than 70 in an indvidual bag. The policy starts December 15th for NWA.
