Yep, precleared security entrances for employees and Known Crewmember portals are toast if this sort of thing continues.  There is always some jerk who tries to scam the system or thinks that the rules do not apply to him/her.  Like the flight attendant who "forgot" she had a loaded pistol in her bag.
 
Let's hope the courts throw the book at these guys in California--no probation, no fines; just long-term jail sentences.  Maybe word will get around that smuggling is not smart.
