The US is the only industrialized nation who does not mandate companies to give vacation days.  According to Forbes, the average of 16 days given in the US does not even meet the minimum in 19 other countries.
 
Aside from that, we are not talking about vacation.  We are talking about maternity leave.  A time for a mother and father to bond with their new-born.  I have never had a kid and even I understand that difference.

i dont have a problem with this... we will leave nato and let norway germany australia (austrailia isnt in nato, that would be ANZUS)fend for themselves and protect their own borders(which im all for btw) 
 
then the money we spend on protecting them we can move to pay for all sorts of feel good programs here in the states..

Because there are so many working "welfare queens" who would have kids to get time off...

Oh I guess I'm with a different program meaning that nobody will take advantage of this. The other is that NYS, or perhaps my area, launched a program years ago where they gave incentives to employers to hire people on welfare, and it was working in my area. Thing is that the welfare folk eventually prove why they are on welfare.
