Without his trusty sidekick, Teleprompt, the truth comes out !
The small business owner did "NOT" build his company and owes all his success to the government !

"Did Obama Say, ‘If You’ve Got a Business, You Didn’t Build That’?"

"The president’s argument, which is similar to one made by Massachusetts Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren, revolves around the idea that business people need the infrastructure provided by the government in order to succeed."

Now let me get this straight. The small business owner, who started with an idea, invested his money, his time, his blood and sweat, did not build that company?

That owner and people who frequent his business do not pay taxes for the infrastructure every day of their lives, already ?.............Well at least 47% of us who pay taxes !

This guy is a complete idiot and a "TRUE" Marxist !

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his need"

Be serious for a second. Do you honestly disagree with Warren's statement? If so, why? You can use our employer as an example if you'd like... or not...

Also, before you answer, let's both agree that small business owners work their a$$es off, and that ingenuity is a good thing.

Its from Yale prof George Burton Adams.

Teleprompter, notes, somebody behind the curtain, a puppetmaster, etc. No surprise. Most politicians use anything but the old practice and memorize your speech. As long as they don't pull a Ashley Simpson where they just move their lips to a song, they'll be OK. 🙄

The problem is that every word is picked apart and over analyzed. So not politician is going to want to speak.off the cuff. If you have a slip of the tounge even though everyone k.own what you meant to say, it gets taken out of context.

I seriously doubt Reagan had any urge to bomb Russia but he said it on an open mike and everyone freaked out.

Yes, I do.

Railroads don't use any government infrastructure. Sure, they have oversight, but that's the government imposing itself into their business model, not a business model that relies on the government.

They get their fuel delivered on a private network of pipelines or in cars that they transport themselves. They built their own infrastructure of track, telecommunications, signaling, bridges, tunnels, and loading terminals.

All on their own. No subsidies, no government agencies "helping" them. They manage their own traffic. No need for GPS, no need for radar facilities, no need for weather forecasters.

With the exception of Amtrak, the government could fail entirely tomorrow, and the railroads would continue on in perpetuity.

Can't say that for the airlines or businesses who rely on truck transport...

Come visit flyover country. There's a whole world who could survive just fine without government...

"Since the beginning of the Section 130 Program in 1974, approximately $3.8 billion have been obligated for grade-crossing improvements. Evaluations of safety improvements made under this program indicate that it has helped prevent over 10,500 fatalities and 51,000 nonfatal injuries."

Nor companies or small business that use any roads/freeways, rely on the police or fire department for public safety, employ people educated in public schools.... etc., etc.

It's totally underrated...

Nice try, but grade crossing protection is there for the motorists protection first and foremost.

Why? Because city folk are too dumb to stop or to look when a train is coming. Takes over a mile for the average freight train at 50mph to stop, and 500-1000 yards for an average passenger train at 70mph.

Fact is that in most cases, the railroads were there long before pavement was poured to cross them. Very few new rail alignments have been added in the post-war era, and for those that have, the tendency (and preference?) by the railroad is to create a grade separation by bridging over or under the tracks.

Again, come out to flyover country. Grade crossing protection in most places is nothing more than a stop sign or a cross-buck (which is an implied yield to the rails). Couple hundred bucks for a stick and a metal sign. Don't need $3.8B in government funding for that.

There are countless crossings that are visually impaired so that a pedestrian or vehicle are unable to see down the track to see a on coming train.

The rails might have been their first but the rails rely on people to buy the products that they are transporting to various vendors. Circle of life.

What you site, Brother, is the fact that previous entreprenuers already paid those taxes for all to grow through prosperity, their income provided jobs and monies for townships to develop and grow and make roads and bridges then other entreprenuers entered the mix and continued the growth. Private enterprise did this not DC, sukka.

Here's my take Kev. The people who do business with said small company and the actual business, pay taxes for that infrastructure, creating more jobs, so I feel they don't owe anyone, especially the government, anything more and should feel insulted by Barracks comment, "You didn't build that!"
