Is it a policy throughout the system that if you go on OI you have to be off for 10 days or more to get paid. If less than you get no pay and I hear you can't use sick time. Can anyone clarify this?

I believe it is up to the individual State's Worker's Comp Laws that make this determination, not the company.

CWA folks cannot use sick time for OJI. The first five days are unpaid; if the OJI lasts six days or more, all the days are paid. Weird, eh?

I won't bet a paycheck but I bet a huge portion of the restrictions have to do more with Worker's Comp regulations than company policy.

Somebody check it out. If you get some illness and miss ten days what happens? Compare that to the OJI and likely the scenarios are different and this generally has little to do with union contracts as opposed to Insurance contracts.
