What's new

Oct 1st announcement.

Strange post.

Who said there was an announcement?

You start a thread and then ask what the thread is about?

Interesting.

I had submitted a quetion to the F/A Q/A in August regarding Delta requesting slots from MIA-LHR and how that would effect us at MIA, I recieved an e-mail back a few days ago and was told "there would be an annoucement regarding routes in October"

WN buys airtran

1). AA buys/merger with jetblue any takers

2). AA spins of O/H to some degree

3). Eagle is finally sold/spun off

That should keep you busy Duke787

maybe Eolesen could shed some light on the subject

Now that Jet Blue is going to fly TPA-SJU, I was thinking this whole AA/JB thing maybe a little like AA/Reno, who knows. It's just familar. But who am I to say, maybe Eolesen has some more insite to this as mentioned.

Although I think the JetBlue agreement is more than meets the eye for the long term, I believe that a "merger" in the typical sense is not the intent.
You may see Eagle finally spun off or sold, er I don't know,, maybe to ,er, let's see, hmmm JETBLUE!
That way Jetblue can become the domestic arm of AA. But to see an outright merger of the two would defeat the purpose of having and sold Eagle with it's lower cost in the first place.
The red herring being the pilots' scope finally being dealt with.

I think you'll see AA buy up Mexicana in bankruptcy before than you'll see anything further with Jetblue.

The guys running Jetblue aren't dumb. They're happy to date, and maybe even fool around a little, but marriage? Out of the question.

And AA doesn't have the free cash to do an unsolicited takeover.

IMHO....The Oct 1st announcement......... AMR/British Air/Iberia code share beginnning next Monday and announcements of the new routes to Mexico and a few other destinations, nothing more!

Someone I spoke with today alluded to US-AA talks, but I wrote it off to that person's sick sense of humor....
