"Offer" rescinded

Really? Aren't you working under reduced wages right now?

If there is a vote and you vote no but the majority of your colleagues ratify a TA with further paycuts, will you quit?

God knows I've said it before, but it's worth repeating: AA does not have the pricing power to raise fares unilaterally. Management wants AA to be in profit (better for their share payouts, after all) and would raise fares to a profitable level TODAY if the market would bear it. Unfortunately with WN buying hedged to $51 oil and Virgin America flying fuel efficient 320s transcon they just can't do it.

And yet, when the execs take steps to stem the flow of cash to Saudi Arabia (in the form of fees and route reductions) they are hammered for "nickel and diming" and "being short-sighted".

With some of you they are damned no matter what they do.

It is much easier to kill the messenger when the memo does not paint a rosy picture and perhaps is too farsighted.

Decided to post my cent-and-a-half here:
What really takes me to near-fits of projectile vomiting are the IDIOTS that run around with those stupid "Show Me The Shared Sacrifice" T-Shirts on, like it's something to be proud of. Let's see, if your lame a$$, lap-dog union (for lack of a better term) was intelligent enough to get in writing something VERIFIABLE, and COURT-ENFORCEABLE from the company in that round of garbage they called "negotiations" you wouldn't have to look so damn stupid.

Number two on the list are those "American's Real Strength" shirts -- if the TWU is Amercan's "real strength" this place must have the worst case of Muscular Dystrophy ever known.

As far as I'm concerned, shut down what you feel you need/want to and have the balls to tell us NOW. Don't give me that crap that you don't know what, where and who gets the axe, let those affected know and let them make plans. AA knew what was on the chopping block before they ever made the announcement, no company makes decisions that aren't conglomerated months ahead, or at least has contingency plans in mind. Yeah, if I knew I had 60 to 90 days left at Camp Fix-A-Plane I'd be less than happy, but I could make plans and get on with my life. But the situation they put way too many people in is not being able to get plans in place as far ahead of the actual layoff date as possible. Like many have said, I had a job when I got this one; I can always find another -- might have to tighten up some spending and forego some plans but we could manage.

Take Care,
KCKKen
I wish that guys like you were on the E-board back in 2003 when another mechanic and I flew out there to try and share our TWU/AA experience with you before the "vote" on the concessions. The majority of your E-board went nuts and demanded that we leave, even though we had asked Butch before we came. Most of the guys we met were pretty receptive-too bad they chose to leave you in the dark, we all have been paying for it ever since.

Mr. Owens,

I can assure you they don't want someone like me on the E-board -- most of them were the same sheep that were more than willing to be a BOHICAn with the IAM before they decided to be a BOHICAn with the TWU. They're like the dog (that you rub their nose in the pile they leave on the floor so many times) that now they stick their nose in the poo all by themselves 😛h34r: Far too many are scared sh!tless that their world will come to an end if they have to go out and either 1) retire, 2) die, or 3) find something else to do.

I'd really like to know what's going on there right now -- I'm just about as far away as I can be (airport code: PGUA) so this board is all I have to read for information, god knows AA ain't talking.......

Take Care,
KCKKen

They pay me just enough not to quit so I do just enough not to get fired.

Does that answer your question

😀

My output is directly proportional to my base pay. Less pay equals less output
😀

sounds like another good novel "Last of the Bohicans."

<_< ----- Bob, unfortunately when you came out here, we were in the "survival mode"! Our a$$'s were on the line, and we all know it! Today Butch is gone, and through all of our hard work, we are still here, and I believe for some time to come! So let's not focus on the past, but look to the future.

Who are you kidding,MCI? You people in MCI will vote Yes to any contract sent your way. No matter how concessionary it is. I see the future and it says MCI will sell out again!

<_< ----- Well, I guess everyone has their own opinion! But, at this point in time, I can't say I agree with you!
