Just goes to show that the demand was always there in Columbus, America West just couldn't get it. This latest announcement by American follows Delta's announcement of bringing in 11 new flights into the city. USAirways will also be adding capacity in their markets.

American and American Eagle Expand Columbus Service

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Feb. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- American and American Eagle announced today that the carriers will expand service from Columbus, Ohio, to three of the top business destinations from Columbus. Combined, the carriers will operate 29 flights each weekday with nonstop service from Port Columbus International Airport to Boston, Dallas/Fort Worth, New York LaGuardia, Chicago O''Hare, Raleigh/Durham and St. Louis, providing added convenience and flexibility to Columbus travelers.
Beginning April 6, the following flights will be added:
American Airlines will increase service between Columbus and Dallas/Fort Worth by adding one round trip. Combined, Eagle and American will offer six round trips per day between the cities.
American Eagle will add two round trips a day between Columbus and Chicago O''Hare increasing service to ten round trips.
American Eagle will add one round trip a day between Columbus and New York LaGuardia increasing service to four round trips.
New flights will be available for sale Feb. 23.
