It has come to my attention that the OKlahoma State AFL-CIO and the Oklahoma Central Labor Council and the State Democratic Party has made an appearance in the "Gayly OKlahoman", a newspaper for Gay/Lesbians group in OKlahoma.

Can someone explain the "WORKER ISSUES" related to this annoucement?

I believe the "ATTACK ON THOSE RIGHTS" referenced in the News Clips Article is in reference to a legislative debate on "Same Sex Marriages" and the Oklahoma State Ban of Recognition thereof.

Print this information and take it to your work area.

Ask your co-workers what their position is on these issues and let us see if the AFL-CIO is in tune with the Oklahoma Union Membership.

Be careful, AA might bust you for a Rule 32 if you are not careful!

The twu was in bed with the carty so long that this crap is in their blood.
Just as the TWU has had a 20 Year History of Concessions.

So has the AFL-CIO had a non-worker related Political Agenda history to match.

Truth be known, the MAJORITY of Union Members oppose many of the issues the AFL-CIO and the Affiliates sponsor. Problem is, the members are not informed about what these groups are doing with the extorted money from their paychecks!

So the AFL-CIO supports workers' rights for gays & lesbians. That includes non-discrimination in the workplace, equal benefits, protection from hate crimes.

What is AMFA's position on workers' rights for gays and lesbians?

This is NOT about "workers rights" and/or discrimination in the workplace.

It is about same sex marriages and human rights.

Not once is "worker rights" mentioned in the article or the legislation referenced in the Article.

There are already laws in place covering the items you mentioned and you know it!

Your SPIN will not get the gayFL-CIO out of this one.

We would have to poll the AMFA membership to determine "AMFA's" position on anything. Something the TWU know's nothing about.

Maybe you can explain the "worker rights" part of the legislation copied below that the the Gayly Oklahoman references. Here it is for you to read...

....AGAIN where is the "worker rights" part of this legislation?

STATE OF OKLAHOMA

2nd Session of the 49th Legislature (2004)

HOUSE
RESOLUTION HR1051: Graves

AS INTRODUCED

A Resolution condemning the same-sex marriage decision by the Supreme Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; requesting the impeachment of the judges who decided this decision; providing for distribution.

WHEREAS, in the Bible, in western civilization and all recorded civilizations of the world, marriage has always been viewed as a union between a man and a woman, not between a man and a man, or a woman and a woman; and

WHEREAS, homosexuality is defined as a sin in the Bible and has been looked upon as that by Christendom and even non-Christian countries; and

WHEREAS, homosexuals and lesbians have not succeeded in achieving their goals in the legislative branches of government, but have sought to achieve their homosexual and sinful agenda through the courts by unelected judges; and

WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, through its Supreme Court, in a
4-3 decision has declared that same-sex marriage is a constitutional right based upon a reading of the Massachusetts Constitution and has legalized same-sex marriage beginning on May 17, A.D. 2004, a day that will live in infamy in western civilization; and

WHEREAS, some members of the Massachusetts Legislature have attempted to pass a constitutional amendment prohibiting same-sex marriage in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, but because of their law a vote cannot be achieved until 2005; and

WHEREAS, the decision by the Massachusetts Supreme Court declaring that same-sex marriage is a constitutional right constituted a usurpation of legislative powers and the powers of the people and was an act of tyranny on the part of the said judges; and

WHEREAS, the judges of the Supreme Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts should be impeached and removed from office for these acts of tyranny and against Christian morality.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 2ND SESSION OF THE 49TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:

THAT the Oklahoma Legislature condemns the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for legalizing same-sex marriage and implores the Legislature of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to impeach the Supreme Court judges who made this immoral and unconstitutional ruling and remove them from office.

THAT copies of this resolution be distributed to the Governor and the members of the Legislature of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

These things being accepted practice is the main reason our medical coverage has gone up so much (I am talking about what we pay from our checks).

There will be a Cope convention next week; the delegates from Local 514 have been determined. If you are against or for any issue let your delegate know before he/she attends. There will be a shop steward meeting Monday. You are free to attend and ask what the agenda will be from our local.

Dave or Rusty or any one else? Have you discussed the issues with the delegates? Or is this typical rhetoric?

Get involved and you will be informed!!!!!!

Remember it's your dues and Cope is voluntary!

Question:

If someone had not stumbled across the Gayly Oklahoman Magazine. Which in turn led to this posted topic and details. How would the membership know to talk with the delegates about this or any other issue? Is there a posted agenda for the C.O.P.E. Convention that shows the membership what else they might be discussing and voting on?

HELL NO THERE ISN'T! WE ARE IN THE DARK!

That's a really nice attempt to deflect attention away from the gayFL-CIO, Kevin.

But the truth is, this is not the first or last pro-gay issue the AFL-CIO has openly appeared in Public to suppport. I have a copy of Speech given by the National AFL-CIO Community Service Director promoting homo-sexuals in the Boy Scouts of America.

Kevin,

Is the per-capita dues to the AFL-CIO and Labor Council Voluntary?

Did the membership elect Terry Lesperance or was he appointed?

Will there be published minutes with voting records for the members to know if
their delegates voted the way they request?

If we take a strong position against these issues will we be fired by American
Airlines for rule 32 violations?

Were you aware that this issue was going before the COPE Convention next
week, before you read it here?

Anyone else notice that Dave did a "screen capture" to get the information? Dave, is there some hidden reason you search out gay sites? You can share here, we're all family.
