AA REACHES TENTATIVE AGREEMENT WITH
TWU FLEET SERVICE WORKERS

Company Continues Work with All Unions "Around the Table, Around the
Clock" to Reach Consensual Agreements

American Airlines announced today that it has reached a tentative
agreement with the Fleet Service workers of the Transport Workers Union that
will help the company restructure its labor costs. Fleet Service, with
over 16,300 members, is one of eight work groups represented by the TWU
at the airline.

The company is currently in direct negotiations with each of its unions
as part of an effort it characterizes as "around the table, around the
clock." American is asking all employees, including management, for a
total of $1.8 billion in permanent, annual savings necessary to help
save the company and position the airline to compete more effectively in
the future.
