One Single Local for AMT's

How are the Fleet Service members at this local going to take part? Is it a maintenance local or a TWU local for all groups, like Local 514?

They would run their own local and do things their own way.

The technicians local would represent all technicians across the nation equally and would defend the profession with more enthusiasm than the profession is protected under the current system. This type of organization would protect the TWU from raids by AMFA or AMP in the future.

Q: Can you tell me where the bust of Charles Taylor is displayed in Tulsa?

Be careful what you ask for, as this was a thought a certain president from 565 had about 10 years ago, and of course the home of the local would be DFW because of the company hdqts being there.
You mean like the ATD?

I believe it is in the front lobby of the TUL maint. Base.

How would you stop people from making a video and posting it on the internet?
Union meetings are meant to be private for the membership only, but we all know some members would eat their own young.

JMHO,
B) xUT
What is to stop some loser from doing that now? They could secretly videotape the 7 people there out of the 850 members and expose them all for the dictators they are... 🙄

Your right Buck. Your one of the few that knows it is in a lobby that's locked, that an AMT has to buzz security to enter (if he has a reason to enter), then he would have to know to look behind the lobby stairs and in the corner in order to view the bust that pays tribute to the first "AMT" and AMT's in general.
I am sure that 99%+ of the base's AMT's have not even glimpsed this tribute.

Exactly, what's more important? Secrecy or participation? You can't have it both ways, if you increase Membership participation you have to take it for granted that you can't keep it secret.

WOW Did you go to the FOX noise opposition media school. You can't print home made sheets with name inserted, and expect it to be taken as anything but a joke !

People who resist change often do so out of fear but also simply because that staus quo just suits them fine.

Change will come, one way or another, for the last twenty years most of it has been bad, except for the 2001 agreement.

What percentage of your peers participate in any meaningful fashion? How many even bother to vote? 30%? Yet you see no reason to try and change things. I guess you like it that way, easier to simply blame the members for not participating instead of trying to facilitate participation.

TWU Local 100, several contracts, one Local-works pretty well. Industry Leading Contracts. Nobody is talking about dumping the TWU over there. Local 556, one contract, one Local, nobody is talking about dumping the TWU over there and they are spread out just like us. Industry Leading Contracts. Local 555, one contract, one local, same thing. Industry Leading contracts. TWU/AA several contracts, even more Locals, several drives to get rid of the TWU and industry leading concessions. Even our Dispatchers and Sim Tech guys, who also are all in one local each,do fairly well when we arent dragging them down.

Just imagine former Local 514 prez and sellout Steve Luis running the one local. No witnesses to see him give the farm away.
