What's new

operations to Sabre

Buffalo Joe, Windows 2000 is the platform in flt ops. not 3.1, it may be hard to get the old DOS programs to work on them

Its been good so far, but when you throw in DOS stuff from the early 80's on it and a server in PIT its slow.

No time out, just slow compared to flt. trac.
And the Eagle/Flitetrac products are much simpler.

Current system in SOC: Flite trac used to view a graphical display of the schedule, as well as make swaps, cancellations, diversions, gate returns, etc, etc. Eagle used to do dispatching.

When we go to FOS: FADS to view a graphical display, MOCA to make swaps, DECS to do flight planning & cancellations.

DECS: long entries to do a simple cancel, diversion, or build extra sections, etc.

FliteTrac: a couple of mouse clicks to cancel; a couple of mouse clicks and fill-in-the blank for diversions, etc.

I also recieved an email that the West CLP cutover is again delayed until Aug/Sep. The West side is now holding Training Classes for the old system for any station needing to train employees.

Manager told me today its on again for June 1st.
Some of the reason is the FAA needs to see this work in order to allow single certificate.
