Osama is dead

I know the story over the years was that he was hiding out in the remote tribal regions of Pakistan in a small village. However most of the other high level AQ leaders who have been captured, KSM comes to mind, were captured in urban areas. While not necesarily a urban area where he was killed a large compound outside Islamibad is hardly a small mud hut in the mountains.

What was it? A retirement area for Paki military chiefs and 1000 yds from the West Point equivalent.....and no one had any frigging idea the 18 ' walled compound held anyone of significance.....

If we redefine the killing of Osama bin Laden as a heartless murder/violation of international law, can we give Bush the leadership credit then?

Only if we credit bush for the murder of Saddam.
Then we can hang them both and give them a sea burial.

Now, will Pelosi become the VP and Biden the POTUS?
Do you really want that?

I suppose that's a birth certificate you can believe in.

Just make sure the middle name has only one A.

Here he is, and yes he was seen with a broom on the midnite shift in PIT.

'Osama is alive!'

ABBOTTABAD, Pakistan (AFP) – Dozens of Pakistani youths on Tuesday demonstrated outside the upmarket compound where Osama bin Laden was killed, mocking the United States and shouting "Osama is alive!"

"Long live Osama, here come Mullar Omar and Osama!" he proclaimed.

Conspiracy theories, propped up by distrust of the United States, have spread quickly among residents in the quiet, relatively well-to-do garrison town after the news emerged of bin Laden's death on their doorstep.

Rumors of a high heeled US Crazy Lady has not been confirmed...

Sarah Palin offers kudos to George W. Bush for Osama bin Laden’s death

Last night, Palin didn't back down from that critique, but she espoused a more pragmatic foreign policy view than she has been known to voice in the past. While she has previously argued for an aggressive use of American force, Palin seemed to reverse course, arguing that a president should offer "clarity" and "clearly defined objectives" before engaging U.S. troops abroad.

Military action, she said, should be the "last resort."

"We can't fight every war," the former governor said. "We can't undo every injustice in the world. We don't go looking for dragons to slay."

I did, I didn't, I do, I will... WTF?

According to this, Obama had DNA confirmation that he was dead prior to announcing.

News Link

Either way, no body is needed, just a tissue sample.

I love how the right wingers are now taking credit for what happened two years later because of what Bush/Cheney supposedly did 10 years earlier (even though Cheney does not know for a fact that he did anything) but when someone on the left wing says that things done by Bush are relevant to what is going on now in regards to everything else that is going on, that some how is not true. How exactly does that work?

Bush closed the CIA unit tasked for hunting down Bin Ladin in 2005 (even though Bush pledged to hunt down Bin Ladin no mater how long it took) and as early as the first part of 2002 he said that he was not concerned about where or if OBL was hiding.

According to the current reports, when Obama walked in the door, he told the spooks to find the SOB and they did. Did Bush/Cheney have something to do with it? Yes they did. Just as they had something to do with the financial cluster screw up we are in now. It's not like there is a reset button when the new POTUS walks in the door.

U.S. officials have told various news sources that CIA facial-recognition technology was used to identify bin Laden, and that his wife – apparently also killed in the attack – called him by name during the firefight that ended his life.

But they say that DNA was the final piece of evidence.

It can be done in hours using what is called PCR, or polymerase chain reaction, to amplify the tiny bits of DNA and then look for a specific part of the genetic code called short tandem repeats.

“You are still dealing with probabilities,” Quake said.

The best bet, Quake said, will be whole-genome analysis, which takes a week or more using current technology and will produce a complete map of the corpse’s DNA.

“They got the sample, Quake said. “They can take as much time as they want to do the analysis.”
