Looks like the folks who want to see the pictures of Bin Ladin are going to have to wait. The WH stated that they will not release the photos.

President Obama has decided not to release photographs of Osama bin Laden’s body, CBS News reported on Wednesday. Mr. Obama said he concluded that images of Bin Laden, bloodied by gunshots, would do nothing to persuade skeptics, but could inflame tensions in the Muslim world and pose problems for America’s national security.

I really do not understand why people would trust any pictures released any more than they would the statement that he was killed. Given what we see in the movies every day does anyone think it would be difficult to create a 'picture' with a dead Bin Ladin in it? As the WH stated, it would do nothing to convince those who do not believe and it would likely give one more excuse (as if they needed on) to the nut jobs in the ME to blow something else up. There is nothing to be gained from the release of the photos in my opinion.

Given the whole "Birther" issue & the perception of no credibility it's abundantly clear to me that a large part of our society is requiring what any insurance company would require before paying out on a policy. It's called "PROOF OF DEATH".

He danced around the whole Birth Certificate issue for reasons know only to him. Now it should come as no surprise that he lacks even a shred of credibility with a relatively large segment of the US population. Right or Wrong his credibility was shot in the ass when he made the Guns & Religion remark,

OH please. The birther issue is a farce. He proved long ago that he was a natural born US citizen. The fact that he released his long form and the birthers are still not satisfied reaffirms his decision not to release the photos. Photos can be doctored with ease in this day and age. To think the pictures would do anything is pure folly. He has no credibility with those who just choose not to believe the facts. I know the earth is round even though I have never been to space. I believe that the US has landed on the moon due to the over whelming evidence that says we have. Those who do not believe will never believe regardless of what 'evidence' is put before them.

The fact that he released his long form and the birthers are still not satisfied reaffirms his decision not to release the photos. Photos can be doctored with ease in this day and age. Here is something for all of you progressives caught up in patriotic fervor.

The Evil twins Bush and Cheney masterminded the invasion of Afghanistan correct?
As a result of their actions we had a SEAL Team available so that when ES (Empty Suit) gave the order the resources were there.
Suppose we would have withdrawn and ES actually honored a campaign promise, where would we be now?
Who increased the budget for the clandestine services? Bush or ES?

So while I applaud ES for actually making a decision and following through, I think some credit is due his predecessor. All of the Progressives act like it was the ES firing the shots himself when in fact is was a highly trained team (Likely funded by the Bush administration) that stepped into harms way on behalf of the Commander in Chief and provided a positive outcome or at least a seemingly positive one.

I just keep going back to the fact that if we hadn't put bases in Saudi Arabia would we even know the name Osama Bin Laden? That's what gives me pause.

If we start looking at where the money comes from for Presidential Elections, NO ONE would get elected. The two biggest vote getters in that scenario would be Ralph Nader and Ron Paul if he ran as a Libertarian and Nader as a Green.

Last time I checked SEAL teams along with all the other SpecOps teams are quite mobile. They can be deployed anywhere in the world on short notice. The fact that we still have troops in Afghanistan has no bearing on the SEAL deployment in Pakistan. It may have made it a bit easier but it would have happened regardless in my opinion.
