What's new

Our Frequent Flyers!

Different strokes to different folks, that's for sure. I flew through Philly nearly every week for 3 months and I think the net effect is like smoking; I lost a good deal of my life expectancy those 3 months. I fly to Altanta every week now for 3 months (and another 3-4 months coming). While Atlanta has a lot of problems, overall I find it much better.

KC. A lot has changed in 15 years. Try flying a flight and come back let us know how it was.

Don't worry...been on Delta fairly recently. And the call goes out..."First class and medallion passengers are free to board at their convenience"...and the whole damn gate area heads for the agent. They had to make an announcement which basically said "You low life good for nothing non-elite passengers, what part of "medallion only" did you not understand." At which point 85% of those folks headed away from the agent. About the time they got to a chair, the call went up for rows 22 and higher to board....and everybody and their dog returned to the agent. Seems to me that the plane might be a tad tail heavy, given the large numbers of passengers who were in rows "22 and higher". And yes, my Delta flights have been on time - I guess because we sat at the gate with the doors closed for a good 10 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. Makes it pretty easy to get that "on time pushback".

Doesn't
Ever
Leave
The
Airport

D.E.L.T.A. - The name says it all!

The one I always preferred was "Don't Expect Luggage To Arrive" but I'm afraid USAirways copyrighted that this past holiday season.

Usairways have all the other majors at the edge of their seats,
they know their future depends on the end of Usairways.
Of course people keep watching southwest and jetblue gobbling up all the domestic market..
but if a considerable amount of the majors go under then availability to international destinations will become a novelty which will be very expensive

there is more at stake here

You could not have flown on Delta recently, because Delta has been using the zone boarding system for quite a while.

That would be like me saying "I've been on Southwest fairly recently, and I just love it when I get a red boarding pass".

JS -please forgive me...I don't pay much attentention to rows or zones - I'm not elite, so I just wait for "great unwashed" call to board...they still preboard medallions (but not senior citizens or families with small children) and when they call the first zone, everybody and their dog heads for the gate. The point being - with this new program welcoming so many new medallion members, they will soon be able to dispense with the zone boarding....everybody will be a medallion and it will be the free for all at the jetway to board the plane.

Must everything be blown out of proportion? 🙄

This is a targeted promotion, only available out of select cities (MCI is not one of them), and the Silver Medallion "Lite" status lasts until February 2006. Qualifying for Silver Medallion this year the regular way would last until February 2007.

I figure 1%, 3% tops, of the Delta passengers over the next 9 months will be Silver Lite. BFD.
