Wow, does that mean our paying pax will be treated to someone speaking non broken English when they call? Horsefeathers!!! That would make too much sense, and besides, "Nancy" in India needs the money more than starving CSAs.I recall someone in Tempe stating that an overseas office would be closing begining of April. Has it happened yet and which office or offices will it be? Does anyone know?

We still have the office in Manilla that handles general res calls.....these r the people customers complain about.
Agents have been advised due to headcount(lack of it) Mex will still be taking calls for the next month. Mama
Hey Phx Mama! You'll never believe where I ended up! PM me please!Agents have been advised due to headcount(lack of it) Mex will still be taking calls for the next month. Mama
Yes, the office is still in Liverpool. I believe they are the office that handles the reservation calls from Europe, there is a different European number listed on the website that gets you to this location. They also handle some Dividend Miles issues, but I'm not sure how they determine what DM calls end up in Liverpool.Does US still have the res office in liverpool?
Don't forget even if they get rid of Mexico City, besides Manilla we still have Guatemala and El Salvador to deal with. And they all make BIG mistakes, can't really blame them with the language barrier and all. It would be like us trying to make reservations speaking Swahili, I don't think we'd be very successful. What I'd be interested to know is how much money is spent undoing the messes these outsourced centers make when they are supposed to be saving money! Supposively all the outsourced centers are supposed to be gone by 2010 or 2011, I can't remember exactly because I don't believe it will actually happen. However the last couple of times I've called to purchase tickets I have gotten someone located in Phoenix who was very helpful and efficient.i am a 35 yr res (SYR,MCO,PIT,INT) agt work Chairmans pref/board of dir/executive svc desk. we were told our res office in Mexico city was to close 1 apr....they handled intl bookings....cant get anyone to verify that it did indeed close. now res has been realigned and intl desk in int increased agts and hiring notice is out for INT/RNO/PHX res offices...yet i clocked it the other day and there is an avg of 16 min between calls....what gives? we used to be offered vto (leave with out pay) on my 5am shift by 8am in jan -feb...then about the 3rd week in feb it stopped cold.....what they are paying us to sit there could be put towards fuel, no? someone said there will be another buyout in res and maybe that is why they are hiring the "cheap" labor. I will say this from a new hire class of 25 people off the street they usually end up with 7-10 agents....they loose them to not passing the codes test.....tardy......sick......drinking......and some unsavory acts that i will leave to the imagination. We still have the office in Manilla that handles general res calls.....these r the people customers complain about. DP said right after the merger he didnt agree with outsourcing US jobs and that he would close the offices asap. will keep u posted if i get a clarification if mex closed.
OOOH, what a bonus this would be!Pretty soon they will be closing PHL airport since almost every agent now has been put on a discipline level because management cannot seem to treat anyone right or do their JOBS and take responsiblity.
HAHAHAHAH!!!! Rediculous, isn't it? Good post though...I laughed out loud!I have no status at United, and one day, I had to make a change. I got india. I can't tell you how furious I was by the end of that call. I dont know what part of India they source their calls to, but the language barrier was rediculous, and the agent kept calling ORD, O Hare Illinois. The agent kept repeating everything back to me like I was a retard, spelling each letter of my address, etc.
