Maureen Dean, the new Sr. Manager of system catering for the new US will be deciding what the new choice cola will be.

I don't know what you think, but I'm tired of the eye rolling when we (HP) tell them we serve Pepsi.

I hope she chooses Coke.

her email is maureen.dean@usairways.com

Don't worry, we get the same thing with coke at US East. I DO hope we get Diet Dr. Pepper and Dr. Pepper. Southerners LOVE the Peppers and so do I.

Both US and the soda companies could get alot of great pr out of this. I say make it fun by having taste test and votes from the passengers.

Never miss a chance for publicity...especially good publicity.

i wish they would bring the Dr Pepper and Diet Dr Pepper on board and it;d be neat if they also could get root beer on there too!

Not get off the subject, but if Maureen Dean keeps her positon as head of catering you might as well kiss any type of service good bye!!! I can see it now that all of the US/East trans con in Envoy class will go to cheap wine, 1/2 cold sandwich, wilted salad, and a brick brownie. We can only imagine how she is going to distroy international service.

Get her out now...

I volunteer to paticipate in the Budweiser vs. Miller challenge!!!

I vote for Coke too, but United serves Pepsi. I wonder what kind of response they get.

Well...since there really needs to be more than one set of taste buds for the Bud Vs Miller, I too will volunteer my services!

Now, for the sodas...PEPSI!!! Sure, Coke tastes WAY better with rum, but...oh heck. OK...COKE!

Let's get to the really important stuff though...can we get rid of the crappy bloody mary mix on the West planes???

Over a period of time serve both and let the passengers decide. What THEY drink most wins. Seems simple to me.

We can taste test all we want or let our customers choose Coke or Pepsi. What will actually determine who will be the choice of USAirway will be the company that submits the lowest bid. Pepsi has consistantly under bid Coke at USWest ever since Coke dropped USWest back in 1991. I would like to have Coke back on the flights, but as long as Coke does not submit a lower bid Pepsi will remain. Bottom line is money talks and taste buds walk..

Yep. Before we go to Shasta.

That is not an impossible idea. I can remember as a kid non-reving on Hughes Airwest, they served Shasta.

Yes it all boils down to lowest bid, not what our customers want. But I remember reading that when United changed to Pepsi, it made Pepsi the choice of airlines. The combined amount airline contracts with PepsiCola, out numbered Coke, so maybe Coke will be motivated to offer a really good bid.
