When will Airways start hub to hub hourly service? Or at least get a couple of widebody round trips a day?

Last week I tried to go from CLT to PHX (on a Monday) and had to go through SAN on the jumpseat. The first CLT-PHX flight of the day had six jumpseaters, oversold by 15 seats with 40+ standby passengers. Most of the PHX flight had Oregon, Claifornia, and Hawaii connections on it.

Coming back East was a mess too.

We need more seats to PHX because most seats are connecting passengers, leaving limited space for PHX destine people.

Still waiting for dcacledca svc to be reinstated-dont hold your breath.

I doubt there will be hourly service, however on October 29 there will be an additional flight serving PHX-CLT.

This will bring it up to 5 daily 1 320 and 4 321s. LAS CLT is also going to 5.

Schedules will go through a lot of changes soon as routes are heavily under scrutiny for profitability and additions will be made to routes that make money. After christmas the 175s and 190s will also drive some interesting schedule changes.

Next years schedule will be very interesting

One more airplane will definitely help. Looking forward to more or bigger aircraft from East to West hubs.

I agree. The frequencies and the load we have on them suck for non-revs. It's almost impossible to get back to PHL direct from PHX, especially if you want to go back home for the weekend. I sometimes usually end up having to take the 9:45pm PHX-ATL flight that gets in ATL at 4:30, then go to DCA, AND THEN PHL. I remember someone asking Doug about how it's impossible for employees to get back east and to add more flights or another red-eye, but supposedly he said trans-con demand drops after the summer travel season is over, so they won't be making very many changes.

Flights aren't added based on non-rev demand.

If memory serves?.....The CLT/PHX route has always been 1 flight greater during the fall and winter months....This was standard practice prior to any merger taking place.

That is true however last year it was 3 to 4 now it is 4 to 5.

Obviously. But supposedly we do have the demand and we oversell flights, eventually closing them. After talking with some yield management people I guarantee we could fill at least an extra 319 to PHL or CLT on certain days during busy travel period such as the summer.

This airline needs some extra MAINLINE AIRCRAFT we all see it - PAX, employees.

Why fly CRJ-200s with tight turnaround times through PHL that are routinely late, bust connections and piss people off when with a handful of 737s or A319s or A320s and longer 'padding' time there would be reasonable connections that would keep happy PAX and put less stress on employees who are turning too many flights for too less money and who don't truly care that deeply???

Is this what Microsoft Excel has brought us? Quick profits at the expense of longterm failure? This airline may be the apple of the airline industry's eye thanks to MICROSOFT EXCEL NUMBER CRUNCHING but may well be headed towards a more serious longterm struggle for acceptance and longterm stability due to LACK OF HUMAN COMMON SENSE

LOL - c'mon prop - lets get real here - USAirways has 19 total widebodies - I would venture to guess that when those babies aren't doing their route and are on the ground they are being serviced - due to all of the problems with the 767 especially. Fitting in a round trip hub to hub - PHL i.e., would not likely get it back in time for it to be on time for the next TA flight - You wont see widebodies on domestic for at least 8 years if ever would be my guess... AA and UA have the largest widebody fleet and they do transcons and hub to hub - but of course UA has 120 widebodies as does AA has around 110 i believe... They also have their configs diff on some of their a/c that do Hawaii and domestic... It would be nice though...

For years our PHX has been from only our Hubs, NOW we serve PHX from lots of Cities. The only passengers now connect in our Hubs are from much smaller cities that do not offer non stop service. Yes you do have some connections to PHX but Hourly Service would surely not be profitable. You can use the aircraft elsewhere more wisely.
