Pilot seniority arbitration award is out

How did the furloughed 1999 pilots make out?

Award is on the West website. Don't know about the East.

In a nutshell, East has top 500 spots. Furloughed and CEL are behind Dave Odell. The rest is sort of ratioed.

Why are pilots so special. Why are they not in the newsletters helping to make this merge complete and help US Airways get thru this with flying colors? Why, does the company rely on other dependables to rectify the worst merge in the last decade. There are employees that are fixing the PAX/Shares problems and getting their names and pictures circulated. Why, don't pilots help get thru this and make this the world reknowned, low cost airline. Why, is any employee helping this board of Directors get thru this.

Is this a joke? I thought it was supposed to be released in June. Are you looking at a proposal?

Gotta link..please

Nicolau noted that AWA hired 360 pilots post 9/11 while 33% of East list was furloughed.

Noted the differences in widebody and international flying.

He disposed of the CEL issue right away by putting them on the bottom without much discussion.

Nicolau used age 65 as a consideration.

Constructed list on a no growth basis.

Career expectations...said both airlines needed each other.

East arguments of retirements and age were persuasive, but not enough to go with East plan which would put first 900 pilots on the East side.

Specifically stated that merging active pilots with furloughed pilots whether DOH or LOS is not fair.

O'dell has 300 recalled East pilots below him.

East neutral from CAL said O'dell should have gone behind all recalled furloughees, but ahead of the remainder of furloughees.

Nicolau used a number of different ratios for merging active pilots with active pilots.

I'm dam n glad I ain't going back to the cockpit.

And by the sounds of it, I would think a passenger isn't paying attention if they choose to fly on USAir East.
