Pilots new proposal and the Me Too Clause

What are TWU priorities? Is more important for the TWU to discuss with AA a me too clause about some terms that the pilots not even vote yet than negotiate for the groups that rejected the last offer.

As I recall, the next step in the process was for the Judge to rule on the APA, APFA, and AMT & Stores contracts last Friday. At their request the Judge allowed the APA to reconsider and extended the APA cutoff date until Wednesday of this week. We were also extended as a consequence. The APA move to let the members vote on the AA enhancements triggered the me-too provisions and subsequent meetings of the 5 earlier approved TWU agreements.

The me-too enhancements are probably the basis for our meetings next week. I imagine our committee can accept whatever that implies, reject it, or simply continue holding out until they get what they want (or in the absence of an agreement the judge revokes the current AMT and Stores contracts at some point).

Personally, I've about had it with this "me too" garbage. My job (pilot) is completely different, and if it is remotely close to any other group, it would be the certificated Mechanics. My health care requirements are different, my work is completely different, and many of my issues are different.

Each group should negotiate their own deals.

True, but the worthless TWU cannot negotiate higher than market rates for their unskilled so they attach them to the skilled like leeches in flood waters.

I wonder what would happened if the skilled countered with a ZERO "me too" clauses in their agreements. With a statement that the skilled refuses to give up anymore for the unskilled to be above their market rates for their jobs. Negotiate this language now to cover all future negotiations and the company will be unable to enter into the "me too" agreements down the road.

The industrial unions have this idea that because "the loaf fo bread cost the same for everyone, brother" that everyone should make the same pay too.

Socialist Pigs! Charity should be voluntary and tax deductible not mandated by leeching the skilled.

New Article or LOM for all skilled agreements. "Anti-Me-Too" Clauses for future bargaining.

He's not elitist he's delusional. This idea that the mechanics are carrying anyone is ridiculous.

Not just the mechanics but all skilled groups are carrying the unskilled period.

I gave up 17.5%, 5 holidays, 5 vacation days, and 7 days of sick time, with 1/2 pay for used sick time to carry the unskilled.
If layoffs, would have happened in 2003 it would have been those unskilled leaving.

No illusions, just facts!

This was the post I was responding to in case you are incapable of comprehension,

But go ahead and believe $24+ for throwing bags is not above market rate for that job. But you are wrong!

Does that mean the AMT's are going to reject the me-too enhancement they get from the current Pilot Negotiations - give me a break.

In case you don't understand the purpose of a me-too, it's to insure none of the members get screwed if the company starts playing games. You do remember AA saying all groups had to take a 20% hit. Somehow it magically dropped from 20% to 17% for the Pilots. Now do you get it.

Dallas Morning News posted some insight on the Me Too agreements as well as 514s site
DMN compares all and 514s has links to the different CBAs..

May have already been discussed on this forum but this is the first time I have seen any of it..Wondering why MCT are getting raises on DOS and no one else?!?! Does their pay lag the industry as the AMT's??

If it so bad why dont you start your own union like the pilots? That way you only have to worry about yourself.

Well, take a look at the pay scales of the AA AMTs vs the rest of the airline industry - AAs AMTs are dead last in pay and benefits! Now look at the rest of the title groups represented by the TWU vs the rest of the industry - all at or near the top. No big surprize when they signed off on the company LBO.

The TWU is at a cross roads with the AMTs at AA. They have bled the pay and benefits from them for so long, that there is nothing left to take. Up until now, the TWU always had plausible deniability on using AAs AMTs pay and benefits to further their socialist/communist cause - "from each according to their ability to each according to their needs". All excuses have been exhausted at this point.

You probably don't see it that way; however, it's very obvious from our standpoint. AMFA is coming.
